Can you explain something to me? Isn't the Nova Corp like the Green Lanterns in that they are super-powered space-police utilizing a shared power source? How does Sam Alexander being Nova in any way invalidate Richard Rider's service or impugn his honor in any way? Why does anyone who liked Rich give a rat's behind about whether Sam is a Nova? It's comics and Rich will be back at some point (see, Peter Parker) so why bother getting one's undies in a bunch? I'm sincerely tired of the griping.
There are those that love the previous NOVA series and are unhappy that it’s ended, simple as that.

CBR-forum-dickhead-types living in Ivory Towers in their own heads who have little to no information about the characters being debated deciding to climb down from their Ivory Towers and share their "low information wisdom" with all the rest of us.
