How long had passed since the tragedy?
No, it was no tragedy, it was murder.....
He had murdered his own brother....
Ha.... Ha

Lucifer now sat in the dungeon, it was silent. Dark brick walls surrounded him and the chains that painfully clung to his wrists were more than enough of a reminder of what he had done.
At first he didn't even dare cry, how could he? He didn't deserve it. He didn't deserve to wallow in self pity, he didn't deserve sympathy, he didn't deserve anything. He knew what his punishment would be..... For killing one of the rulers of hell.
It was a crime he had committed.... Oh how much he had hurt Mammon over the years, he had never realised.
But it didn't matter now, did it?
All my fault
He committed something so horrible, something so unimaginable, that at first he didn't believe it.
But as he heard Barbatos say the wounds were too severe, that Mammon didn't make it.... It really sunk in, the severety of what he had done and finally, after being chained up for days, he let himself cry.
Oh how much he had cried, how much he wished that this wasn't reality, that it was another nightmare.
But it wasn't.
It was all way too real.
He had cried for hours that night, screaming, weeping, begging for his baby brother to come back but it was all for nothing, he did the thing he feared the most.
He hurt someone he cared about.
He barely slept anymore, the lack of sleep caused bags to form under his eyes, he was exhausted but no matter what he did, each time he closed his eyes, he could only see Mammon's horrified face staring back at him.
He had never seen such fear on him before.
And it was justified, because now he was gone.
And Lucifer was the only one to blame.

"You have eaten yet"
Lucifer frowned, how did Diavolo expect him to eat in such a state? "I don't need it"
"I didn't want it to end like this Lucifer..... But you went too far this time" Diavolo pitied the man honestly. Such stress, taking care of 6 brothers and a human and a dead sister.... Or well, a dead sister and brother now, huh? He frowned as he stood before the cell "You know that a punishment for this kind of crime is severe...."
"I know" Lucifer let out a sigh, he knew what was coming, he knew very well.
"Why did you do it?"
"Huh?"
"Why did you do it Lucifer? He was only trying to help"
"I didn't mean to. It was not supposed to end up like this" Would Diavolo please just go away? He really couldn't deal with this right now.
"Obviously a part of you wanted to do it Lucifer, otherwise you wouldn't have done it"
Silence filled the room..... He wanted to do it? No no.... He would never want to hurt his own brother that badly, to the point of being the reason behind his death. Lucifer loved Mammon, he loved him with all his heart...... But he killed him, without mercy.... When he was just trying to help....
Diavolo's frown deepened as Lucifer stared at him blankly, this was no the time for messing around "Answer me Lucifer"
"Leave"
... Was he hearing this right?
"What did you say?"
He couldn't believe how far he had fallen, showing such disrespect to Diavolo.
"I TOLD YOU TO LEAVE" Lucifer fought against his restraints, he was angry, he was hurt, he didn't know what to do.... And Diavolo just stood there, throwing accusations at him.... He didn't know what Lucifer felt.
He didn't, he didn't, he didn't
.... But what if he did?
Lucifer shook, tears overtaking him once more, he didn't know if tears were even an appropriate response to this situation, he wanted to laugh, wanted to laugh at this whole situation. The Avatar of Pride.... Lucifer Morningstar, how pitiful can he be? How pathetic.
He let out long sobs as he heard footsteps going away further..... He was alone once more.
"I'm sorry...."
He really was, he wanted to take everything back, oh how he wished he could.
If this was all a nightmare, a bad dream, he swore to himself, he would treat Mammon right. With the love and the respect that he deserves....
This all felt so surreal.
Just like a bad dream but no matter what, Lucifer just couldn't wake up.

A while had passed since that conversation, Lucifer had mostly been left alone, except for when food got brought to him... He would just push the plate away, refusing to eat..... He was getting skinny.
At this point, only one thing was going through Lucifer's mind.
What did the others think?
They all probably hate me, right?
They have every right
None of them had come to visit him since the incident and since he had been imprisoned. He didn't blame them of course, they most likely didn't want to see him......
Lucifer laid against the cool brick wall, he wondered why it was taking so long, why they were torturing him, he knew what was coming for him, so why didn't they just finish it already?
Maybe then he would get to see Mammon.....
Would Mammon forgive him?
Forgive him for everything he had done?
All the insults, all the harsh punishments, all the beatings, assault..... For causing his death?
Would he forgive Lucifer for being such a horrible big brother? Because at this point, Lucifer couldn't even forgive himself.

It felt like it had been months since they first locked him up here.... At this point, Lucifer was getting confused over Diavolo's intentions.
He had heavily implied that death was awaiting Lucifer and yet, nothing had happened.
Nothing for months, he would just come to the dungeon once or twice every few weeks, provoke Lucifer until he was left a weeping mess and just leave.
Was this his punishment? Being reminded of the guilt for eternity?
He would have hoped that Diavolo was more merciful than that and would have just killed him already.
At this point, he was begging for death, he couldn't stand being in this cell anymore, alone with only his thoughts to entertain him and they mostly weren't pleasant....
It was a new day
It was like any other
Except.... It wasn't really
Lucifer had noticed that he hadn't received breakfast this morning, the Little D's came and had him cleaned and dressed up.... He had a feeling he knew why..
It was around 3 PM when the guards came to take him.
What was left of the 3rd most powerful demon in the Devildom was simply pathetic. He was Lucifer Morningstar, The Avatar of Pride no longer.
He was a pathetic man, a shell of what he once was.
Now, as he laid his head down on the cold stone below him, Lucifer stared over the thousands of demons who came to see him at his weakest moments.
They were all laughing at him, not making this any easier for him.
And what's even worse, in the front, stood his 5 brothers..... He was happy he got to see them one last time, even if their gazes were full of hatred and sorrow. Even if they all despised him in his last moments, he still loved them with all his heart and was saddened that he was leaving them behind without their older brothers.
Leviathan would make a good big brother.
He was sure of it.
Finally as the clock striked 4 PM, Lucifer knew it was time. As he looked up one last time, tears formed in the corners of his eyes and his last words left him.
"I'm sorry"

- it was already a mistake when diavolo let him pick the human, but why did he wait to see your grotesque profession until now?
- when you just arrived?
- The 'safety' of the devildom is top priority, so a serial killer such as yourself will have to the leave the premises.

- it's ironic, since the devildom houses demons who's crimes range from the most humble to the most atrocious.
- ironic indeed.
- he took second-hand pride in the fact that you, a renowned anonymous serial killer was in his midst and that he got to be near you.
- lucifer is feared for a reason as a top-ranking demon, so he's a little glad someone can try to match his ruthlessness.
- contrarily, that means another headache ontop of the other existing nine ones. Ten if you count Simeon sometimes.
- he keeps your..... occupation under wraps the same way he did with Belphie.

- his brothers can barely handle a simple mishap in their ever day lives, he highly doubts they can handle a serial killer.
- he will keep try to keep an eye on you at every hour of the day. he can be outsmarted and outplayed, of course. how else did you get so far into your self-managed career without being caught, especially dodging suspicion?
- fair warning to lucifer, if he tries anything against you, you can always counter him. Always. whether you're physically stronger than him in human form or smarter, there's always a way.
- if you're ever itching to kill for whatever reason, no need to worry. tons of demons get killed for stupid reasons just like humans do; only difference is that one group has talons and claws.
- they wouldn't suspect if someone at school went missing, right? you know the best places to hide a body by heart and getting the smell of a dead person off you is as easy as blinking.
- little did lucifer know, you were already cropping to see your next target. the succubus in the corner, one of the members of the fungol team, a cheerleader, a club leader, a demon in a bar...... do many new options, and having an angel on the list sounds eerily tempting......
- after all, you know the human body better than most, possibly better than the world's top doctors and surgeons, so every viable weak spot, external or internal, is within memory.
- lucifer can't keep an eye on you the whole year, all year round. it's not hard to create a distraction that'll a few hours to fix, kill, and come back to clean up.
- of course, he was aware of what you were trying to do, so only a few attempts managed to be successful.
- there's a new menace in town, and lucifer needs to watch out.
