The sillies from earlier this year uwu
This is Lesbian Money Lincoln. Reblog to enhance your chance to find a lesbian or $$. Or a $$$ lesbian. Also good for protecting your favorite girlfriend jeans from tears or shrinkage.
The nature of the immigrant is any food they make is inauthentic, neither "authentic" food from their homeland nor "authentic" food from where they live. This is of course, not xenophobic in the slightest.
I think about this every time I see someone pretentiously going on about where a food ackshually came from because immigrants are never fucking good enough. If you do this I fucking hate you. Apologize to every immigrant immediately or face my wrath.
I promise your culinary experiences will only improve if you start to consider immigrant foodways as valuable traditions in their own right. Immigrants devising ways to make food they like using what they find available in their new homes is one of the greatest examples of how humans express love through food.
Since July is Disability Pride Month
(as opposed to every other month when we're all demure about disability rights /gentle sarcasm)
I wanted to highlight one of my favorite artists: Liberal Jane.
having adhd and being a creator is like being on a timer. oh sorry you have this art idea? well you have approximately 12 hours to start it and 6 hours to finish the task or else you will lose interest and inevitably move on. oh you have an idea for a one-shot? well you’d better finish it in a day unless you want to banish it to your wips forever. ding dong bitch
please god above can someone explain to me why we're still working on self driving cars when trains exist
"we're training them to interpret road signs!" Train goes same place every day. No road signs.
"when forced to choose between old lady and child, which is more ethical for the car to hit?" Fence around train track. Nobody on the road.
"people with disabilities preventing them from driving themselves can be independent" Yes but also. Train.
"reduces the dangers of fatigue with long distance trucking" Train.
"the technology is not yet price effective for the average driver" Train.
Seriously come on choo choo bitches let's goooooooooo

[ID: a post banner with dark red background and medium grey bolded text in the center. it reads “This post is about physical disabilities, do not derail.” On each side there is the dynamic disability icon, a gray symbol of person in manual wheelchair leaning forward with arms bent behind them mid-push. /end ID]
This is the first time I've actually seen a positivity post mention my illness type! That's really cool.
cruelty is so easy. youre not special for choosing it
"The trouble is that we have a bad habit, encouraged by pedants and sophisticates, of considering happiness as something rather stupid. Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting. This is the treason of the artist; a refusal to admit the banality of evil and the terrible boredom of pain."
-Ursula K. LeGuin, The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas
"Evil is boring. Right? I kinda believe in the banality and mundaneness of evil. Evil is just selfish impulses, which at the end of the day are really easy to understand. It’s easy to understand why people do bad things. It’s like “yeah, ok, you’re selfish and scared and cruel, I get it”. Being good is complex and beautiful and hard." - Brennan Lee Mulligan
tiktokers who say classic lit is bad because its not relatable 1. thats not the fucking point 2. you've clearly never read twelfth night as a trans bisexual
you've clearly never read Frankenstein as a student
If you're fucked up enough a lot of classic lit suddenly becomes uncomfortably relatable tbh.
This is 100% true, but also: literature is a great way to engage with people you don't actually relate to, and practice feeling empathy for them anyway. I have never been in a battle, but I have cried over the Iliad multiple times because I was suddenly made very aware that every single war has people like Hector in it, who leave their families one day and just never come home to them. Please keep looking for things you find relatable in unexpected places - but not everything has to be relatable for it to be worthwhile.
Not everything has to be about you to be worth reading
The Persona 2 duology fills me with immeasurable joy. The gameplay is obviously... rocky, to say the least, but the writing and characters carry it SO much. Tatsuya and Maya are easily my favorite protagonists in the series. Their connection as the two main characters of their respective games in the duology works so well.
Take this drawing I made of the pair together because I love them an abnormal amount.
I always say pride month instead of happy pride month because if it was a happy pride month joanne rowling would be dead
today’s our last chance
great point. there’s still time
