S5 EP1 (SPOILERS)

What did everyone think of the season premiere?

My thoughts

I’m so glad the whole doc being a zombie thing was just him pretending to help someone. The whole warrens hair changing that fast was confusing but we’re just gonna go with it I guess. Lol. I’m glad we have sarcastic comedic Murphy this season. I also love how much Murphy and docs friendship has grown. They’re finally acting like family and I never thought that’d happen with them cause they were kind of written as just being awkward with each other from season 1-3. Season 4 they finally started to develop a friendship & now they’re legit best friends & I love it. Obviously I’m glad warren is safe but I don’t want her to fall for someone who isn’t Murphy. Oof. I ship Murphy and warren so much. But I’m glad she’s feeling happy after what they just went through. BUT Murphy talking about how him and warren have this bond and he can STILL FEEL HER. I BAWLED! Murphy having visions after eating brains is something but I’m game. The whole talkers thing is going to be interesting which means if anyone in the group dies are they really dead. But what if when red, addy, & sun come back are they gonna be alive or made into talkers. And also since talkers crave brains doesn’t that mean Murphy was the original talker all along & since 10k also died he’s one too… but let’s be honest, the writers won’t give us crap about the end of s3 and what’s going on with 10k so we’ll never know. And when warren hit the one “talker” with the shovel she lost her conscious & became a regular zombie which I feel is a thing that will be discussed later on in like a human vs talker battle. And tbh I don’t trust George just the way they had her character portrayed in this first episode she seems like she has a hidden agenda. The biscuit thing scares me and is confusing that they already have a solution for talkers when they seem like they only became a thing for the 2 weeks warren was unconscious.

Casting scoop! New Z Nation cast member Katy O’Brian not only confirmed her series regular role today, but in her shout outs to fellow cast members she also let slip that Zack Ward will be appearing in the series!

His Z Nation role is unknown, but you probably remember him for his work in Sharknado: Heart of Sharkness, American Horror Story, Freddy vs. Jason, or his iconic role as Scut Farkus in A Christmas Story!

I think I know who Zack Ward is playing.

I am pretty sure that is Ward dressed in military fatigues in this shot from the season 5 promo. Based on the audition tapes that leaked earlier this summer, I think he will be Lt. Dante, a Talker (talking zombie) friend of George, the new character played by Katy O’Brian. We’ll find out soon! October 5 is the tentative premiere date on Syfy.
