The Witchy Librarian

@thewitchylibrarian / thewitchylibrarian.tumblr.com

Greetings! Welcome to this tumblr! As you can see, there isn't much to it as of yet, but that will change. The plan is for this to be a place for me to talk about some of my favorite things as well as my experiences with my spirituality. There can...

 Pokemon Go is here. As I walk in endless circles around the library trying to hatch one of my eggs, I’m thinking of ways to integrate it into programming, or to advertise that we are both a hotspot for picking up Pokeballs and other paraphernalia.

Does anyone out there have any great ideas they’d like to share? How can we get Poketrainers involved in the library?

How can we get our patrons to Be The Very Best?

I found out my library is a poke gym. There's gonna be many a battle for control. And that's just between staff....

One of my history professors is this scarily intense German guy, and today we were talking about the peer reviewing process and how vicious some academics can get, so I casually asked him what the worst review he’d ever received was.

He became very stony-faced, looked off into the distance and said, completely deadpan and in his thick accent:

“It does not matter. They are dead now.”

I think my professor has killed a man.

Didn’t you know? In order to get a PhD you must commit at least one murder, using your field of expertise as a weapon.

Chemists, Physicists, Engineers, they have it easy.

Kill someone with poetry some day. Or Geology[I have it on good authority that “hit them with a rock” is considered very poor form].

Glad I'm not going for a Ph.D. in library science....
