I know sometimes
it’s too hard to let the world see you with all your cracks and broken pieces
but know that whether
it’s the days when you shine with more brilliance than the sun
or the nights you fall apart,
crumbling under the weight of this world
I will love you
show me the waves of emotions that crash onto your shore
show me the darkness that surrounds your thoughts
and I will show you that I’m not afraid of drowning
nor of the dark
for you have known love like the sharp end of a knife
and you have lived with a heart that has more scar tissue than flesh
because not many people
are brave enough to love you
but I am
I want the parts of you that you tried to throw away
the parts you were convinced that no one could ever love
because I will love you when you are a drizzling rain
