lesbian • radical feminist • really epic I guess • losers dni • russian

the thing about female socialization is that you don’t stop performing it once you’re aware of it, and the steps you take to unlearn it are (at least initially) a performance themselves. it takes conscious effort to remind yourself to sit and stand comfortably, take up space, not apologize, not pitch your voice up to men or defer to them, to speak up, to unlearn misogyny towards other women, to choose women first and prioritize yourself.

Tinfoil hat moment but I swear this ‘omg evil SWERFs!!!” nonsense is a psy op bankrolled by the sex industry because in what world is “I think it’s okay for 60 year old men to buy sex from 18 year olds struggling to afford their next meal :)” something you can say with a goddamn straight face.

that’s not even a tinfoil hat moment tbh like ‘turn off the blue light’ was a campaign run by traffickers, the #notyourrescueproject was run by a man who posed as one of the women he trafficked under the name “molli desi”, there’s probably more examples but yeah, that’s 100% what’s going on

Red umbrella project was started/run by pimps and traffickers too.

Also think about now much modern feminism has to do with “sex positivity” and glorifies PornHub 👀

Also the NSWP, one of the most influential sex work orgs (backed by Amnesty & funded by George Soros) has ties to human trafficking. One of their leaders got sentenced for procuring and trafficking a few years ago

Oh and the IUSW openly takes money from pimps, including Douglas Fox who ran one of the biggest prostitution rings in England

Liberal feminists and pro-“sex work” advocates, have you asked yourself who is benefiting from the constant platitudes you throw out? When you forego listening to the experiences of actual women who live in these conditions, the women who have been forever harmed and scarred by these immoral industries, and instead parrot talking points made by child predators, traffickers, pimps, and sexbuyers, who do you think is benefiting? I used to be like you. I used to spout the “sex workers deserve rights, and the way to go about that is through legalization” talking points. That stopped once I started dedicating time to researching the endless campaigns, legislative bodies and lobbyists that end up being the ones who are actively hurting women and selling them into sexual slavery. I started reading theory from women who have dedicated their lives to the protection and advocacy for women who don’t have the privilege of seeking these outlets themselves. Almost one million men, women, and children are trafficked every year alone. Have you ever critically addressed why you support legislation that increases this number? Why you claim we’re “sex-worker” exclusive when our feminism seems to be the only kind that seeks to abolish the sexual violence that pervades still? Empowerment is not commodifying women and selling us into sexual slavery. Empowerment is a state of being that requires that we have the conditions to make choices free of economic or otherwise violent coercion, or ultimatums that force women into inescapable circumstances. Wanting to legalize sexbuying, pimping, or brothel-owning is the advocacy of selling women for men’s sexual pleasure no matter the cost, and attempts to codify into law the types of situations that cause women to become prostitutes or trafficked individuals rather than eradicating the sociocultural, economic, political, and legislative plagues that commodify & objectify women, and force them into scenarios where they must submit to the sexual wills of men to survive.

@srhuevos @scottish-egalitarian @abitofftherails @loki-against-onision @libertarirynn u guys didnt partake in a quick google search and instead immediately decided to mock someone for saying she’s against male gynaecologists when there’s plenty of reason for her to be? 🤔

there’s more but tumblr has a 10 picture limit :) and this is only after a quick google search. found a journal article stating that rape and sexual assault is a huge problem within gynaecology and every. single. case. i found was of a male gynaecologist that caused harm to his female patients. but hey, let’s just paint op as stupid, paranoid, and irrational right? 🤔

plus “urology”… smh everyone has a urinary tract and a bladder???

Right??? People really don’t understand female anatomy.

Calling women misogynistic slurs has never been so progressive.

I’m sure all the domestic abusers in the world who call their wives ‘b*tches’ and ‘c*nts’ while assaulting them are just genderblind good ol’ boys who don’t mean anything sexist by it.

“bitch isn’t a slur because everyone uses it all the time for everything”

If that author was a man, do you think Reductress would’ve called him a bitch?

All misogynist groups leap over themselves to call powerful women bitches and degrade them. Why would TRAs pass up this opportunity?

“Do you really believe … that everything historians tell us about men – or about women – is actually true? You ought to consider the fact that these histories have been written by men, who never tell the truth except by accident.”

— Moderata Fonte, pseudonym of Modesta Pozzo (1555-1592). She was an Italian writer from Venice who wrote religious and romantic poetry. Modesta is best known, however, for the posthumously published The Worth of Women: Wherein Is Clearly Revealed Their Nobility and Their Superiority to Men (via hereticnarrative)

Men are lying to you about history

Look how they’ve erased women from medicine despite midwives and “sorceresses” being the women who understand childbirth, the human body, and herbs and medicines. They killed them then named fathers of medicine.

I rarely believe what a man tells, even if it’s a fun story. I might enjoy his storytelling, I might laugh at the jokes, but at the end of the day, I know men romanticise their stories (or completely invent them) because they want to sound adventurous. Believing a history written by men is akin to believing any other work of fiction.

100%

I cannot recommend enough that you read The Worth of Women. It is such a refreshing piece of literature compared to the avalanche of rancid misogynistic texts that permeate history.

It used to be on Google Books but I can’t find it anymore. So here is a pdf of a book written on the topic by a Cambridge lecturer, it is a very instructive read on women and their condition at the time, but also of their fight for recognition and liberation from male prejudices. Know your history gyns, we’ve always fought back one way or another ❤

Reblogging for the book rec!

and if you’re straight, you have privilege. we live in a heterosexist society. homophobia exists as a means to reinforce a hierarchy of heterosexuality over homosexuality, and I don’t think that should be too hard to be asked to accept in a feminist setting. we all belong to multiple social groups at all times, and if you’re only willing to engage with social theory that benefits you as an oppressed group, but you’re unwilling to engage with social theory that challenges you because of your privileged statuses, then you’re only interested in yourself and not your communities at large. it seems to me if you agree homophobia exists, it shouldn’t be that hard to figure out which group benefits from homophobia existing, and it’s heterosexuals.

schrodinger’s homophobia: exists when straight feminists need to use it as a rhetorical device to bludgeon trans activists with but doesn’t exist when they have to examine and take responsibility for their own complicity

not many people know this but theres actually no written form of the spanish language . when we text each other it just says [speaking Spanish] on the screen and we psychically commune the words

I think it needs to become common knowledge that "inability to read social cues" can show up as overcompensating.

You don't know how much misbehaviour is allowed, so you become the perfect child who never tests rules.

You don't know if someone is irritated with you, so you'll be extra generous and self-effacing.

You don't know how much is expected of you at work so you'll kill yourself in a minimum-wage job and not notice that nobody else is working like this.

"Hardworking and quiet" should be as much of an autism red flag as "ignores rules and doesn't know when to stop talking". Or why don't we just start using words to communicate so i can stop tracking everybody's eyebrow twitches, that would be great.

i did the EQ test n i got 46/80 this sounds great

Nice 😏

I also scored a 9 on the other autism test. Not to brag but I’m the supreme neurotypical.

Except I have ADHD…

i am not taking this shit again last time i did i literally got 4 i’m so serious

Autism gang rise up

Your score was 21 out of a possible 80.

Scores of 30 or less indicate a lack of empathy common in people with Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome.

Higher scores indicate greater levels of empathy.

when I saw this result I said ‘what?!’ in such an indignant squeak that I sounded like a dog chew : ( not a moment of great dignity.

but I don’t see how I scored so low, I expected to be in the 70’s tbh. Is this how I seem to people? un-empathetic? lol, I’m totally not paranoid about this now!

Don’t be. I got a fucking seven!

The Recloseted Lesbian. Appeal: Lost

question: how would you recommend she include Dumbledores gayness into the books?

also, you know she legally couldn't write gay characters for the first few books, right?

Avatar

I still don’t understand how so many “activists” don’t know about Section 28

These kids are almost 100% likely not old enough to remember the absolutely massive conniption the media threw when the "Dumbledore is gay" thing came out

I DO remember that and a) she didn't just announce it out of the blue, she was answering a fan question at a reading about if Dumbledore and McGonagall ever dated and it blew up and b) people lost their entire minds about it. There were bans and boycotts and thinkpieces about it, and not just from the "this is literally promoting witchcraft and therefore Anti-Christian" crowd

This was a Big Deal, and in no way shape or form was it done for ~clout~ or fake representation or to earn "woke points"
