Working on the new plushies! These are all made by hand. After I cut the fabric roughly to shape, I pin each side together with their woven labels in between. Then there are sewn with my machine and finished by hand. I also cut the tags from a larger sheet to save some money. Jellybean will be available as soon as I have a few ready to ship ✨There will also be another plush available - Pepperoni with an ice cream cone 🍦 Also follow us on Instagram too! TheTinyTabbyPlush

New kitty plush in the works! Please comment here with a name suggestion for her! The person who suggests the name that we pick will get a plush for free as a thank you. Let me tell you a little about her so you can think of the perfect name. She's 3 years old, she has different colored toe beans, she's a little shy, and she's FIV+. FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. I have talked about FIV+ cats in the past, and now it's time to have a plush to represent all of the FIV+ cats who are looking for homes! I will make some comics with this character to better explain FIV and what it means, but for now you can learn about FIV here: https://www.catchat.org/index.php/fiv The plush for her will be available soon, as well as some other cool new stuff! I can't wait to hear your name suggestions! :) Winner will be picked September 3rd!

Hello! I'm glad you're back! I bought 2 tabbies in the past and brought them to college with me this year. A few weeks ago was checking out your website again and was bummed out you were still on hiatus. This summer I actually donated my sewing skills and handmade 50ish plushies to donate to abuse shelters and the local cops to hand out to kids. I wanted to thank you bc I sorta was inspired by your work and wanted to give back to my community in a way

This is amazing, thank you for doing that!! ✨💖

Hi friends, it's been a while 😊 I had to stop running The Tiny Tabby for a while because it became a little overwhelming. Recently, I was reminded about my posts and donations actually helped cats ... and I need to start doing it again. I've learned a lot about how much stress I can take, and when to stop. I've cried over cats that I've donated to who needed medical help and didn't pull through. I've cried happy tears being able to donate thousands to cats in need. It's been tough, but I think I've grown a lot and can now start doing TTT again, and make it better. The shop is now OPEN. Cat plushies are now $16, and $8 will be donated to a shelter or rescue group. I reduced the price of other items as well. Tote bags are now only $8, patches are $5, and button sets are $5. In the future, I want to create products that are less stressful and time consuming for me. Reminder - each of these plushies are HANDMADE. I still want to make them, but I'd love to find other products that won't take as much time to create. I have lots of ideas! Thank you for being so patient. I appreciate the messages from people who said they wished I'd come back. Thank you so much for all of the support. http://thetinytabby.storenvy.com/

This precious baby is Finn, and he was rescued by @k9kastlecorp in NYC. His legs are severely deformed, but he is in great hands with this rescue. They are trying to raise money to have his legs corrected and then find him a home.

K9kastle relies on donations to help the kitties that would otherwise be put down. If you could spare even a couple bucks, you’ll be helping Finn get the life he deserves!

Last year, we sponsored Gato for a full year of care for $250. He has been waiting for a home since 2009, and sadly he still has not found a home! We have again sponsored this sweet guy for another year. Gato has a few strikes against him. He's missing an eye, he's black, he's shy and he's old. Even with one of those things, it's hard to get adopted. We are hoping that someone gives him a chance! Quite often, cats that have been waiting a long time for a home like Gato are so appreciative when they finally get adopted. If you want to adopt a friend, please consider cats like Gato who have a hard time getting noticed. Maybe this will be the year that Gato finds his person. He deserves a warm lap and someone to cuddle him! Read more about Gato, who is at Witty Kitties Inc here http://www.wittykitties.org/id137.html

I’ve gotten several requests for a PSA about animal safety during Halloween season. Just to be safe, please keep your animals inside when we start getting close to the 31st. Besides crowds of unfamiliar trick-or-treaters, there are “mischievous” people who might harm or harass an animal, vehicles, fireworks, candy that is poisonous to cats, and who knows what else! You can read more about animal safety here.

It's October again!!

http://www.wayward-whiskers-cat-rescue.org/donate Hi guys! First of all, I'm sorry for not being active for a while. Tons of good and bad things have happened this year, so this had to take a back seat for a while. Good news though, we donated $250 to Wayward Whiskers Cat rescue! This kitty is named Lionheart, and he needs some emergency care to clean/remove teeth. He is in a lot of pain and stopped eating dry food. Hopefully our donation will help poor Lionheart! ❤️ what a sweet face!!

Sorry for being inactive!

Hey again! My wedding took up a ton of time (obviously!!) so I haven’t been able to post in a long time. We also just had an emergency cat situation (he will be ok) as well as trips out of state and general craziness! So, I’m hoping to be more active soon, I didn’t forget about The Tiny Tabby!

Your cat’s urinary health: This info could save a life!

We aren’t vets, just unfortunately experienced with these situations and have consulted many vets about prevention and treatment. Please contact your vet with any concerns! Read through this for a basic idea of this common problem.

Why do I need to worry about my cat’s PEE?!!

Because urinary issues are very common in cats. If left untreated, your kitty could die. If your cat’s urethra becomes blocked, he will die within days.

How do I know if my cat has a pee problem?

Be observant. Take note of the amount of urine in his box. If it is less than normal, or none at all, you should be concerned. If you catch him in the litter box, try to listen for urine (yes I know this is gross, but it’s a good way to tell). Cats with painful urination will often pee outside of the box. Don’t be mad at your kitty, this means he is distressed and associating his litter box with pain. Also, a very obvious sign is blood in the urine.

If your cat is acting unusual, lethargic, or hiding he might be seriously ill. Call your vet for advice if you’re unsure!

What do I do if I think my cat is blocked?

If your cat can’t pass urine, he needs immediate help! Call a vet ASAP because this is a real emergency.

What can I do to prevent this?

HYDRATION! Although there are other factors such as stress, vets recommend getting as much water into your kitty as you can. Giving them wet food really helps. Naturally, cats would get most of their water from their prey. They do drink water from a bowl, but usually aren’t well hydrated by that alone*.

Giving them canned food helps keep them hydrated. You can even add a little water to their canned food! If your cat refuses wet food, try out different brands or add water to their dry food at least. Yes, dry food is more economical and convenient, but wet food is about 75% water, while dry is only 5-10%. With more water in your kitty, their urine will be less concentrated and less likely to form crystals. How to encourage your cat to drink more. Making sure they are as comfortable as possible can also help. Take a look at The indoor Cat initiative to make sure all of their needs are met. *If you notice your cat drinking a lot, this could be a sign of another illness, such as diabetes.

Is my cat at risk?

Any cat can develop crystals or infections, but male cats are the ones that are really at risk for becoming blocked. Prevention is more cost effective than treatment! Unfortunately this is a very common among kitties!

Hi, I just got a message from your main site saying it's not secure. You might want to check that! Thanks for helping kitties!

Oh no! I'm not sure why that's happening. It doesn't seem to happen on my end. Anyone else experiencing this? I'm not sure how I would fix that either.

If you find yourself suddenly needing a TON of money for an emergency vet bill, it can be very stressful! Luckily, there are some things you can do to help your situation. Apply for Care Credit Financial Resources by US State YouCaring Fundraising National organizations that provide financial assistance to pet owners in need Via The Humane Society Website http://www.bigheartsfund.org/ (Heart disease)

http://www.dccfund.org/  The Dog & Cat Cancer fund

http://www.petsofthehomeless.org/ (assistance for homeless)

https://www.riedelcody.org/ (cancer specific)

http://www.topdogfoundation.org/ (senior dog specific)

I know from personal experience that this is THE WORST! Stay positive if you can, because things can work out. Personally, I applied for Care Credit and did a fundraiser through YouCaring. There are other options out there too! (also a reminder that we only signal boost and donate to certified non-profits, so we can’t help individuals in those ways, but I hope this post helps out because I know how difficult this can be!)

DO NOT HAVE A PET YOU CANNOT AFFORD. Get pet insurance and pay the premiums. Keep a few thousand dollars in the bank too pay for emergencies. If you cannot afford these things, then you cannot afford a pet!

Yes, you should be financially stable before you adopt a pet. You should know that you can take care of yourself first, and afford food, spay/neuter and regular vet visits. HOWEVER, pet insurance is not an option for everyone. Those of us who have elderly, disabled or chronically ill pets are pretty much out of luck. No company will properly cover my one cat, because of asthma and a neurological condition that he was born with. Oh, but they happily took my premiums and denied all of my claims. I thought I was being responsible, but it was a waste. Depending on the coverage that you want, it can be very expensive even for a perfectly healthy pet. It’s definitely good for some, but not for all. In some situations, people have benefited greatly from being insured. Having insurance and thousands of dollars “just in case” is nice, but it’s not realistic for every person or necessary to be a responsible pet owner. I am paying off an emergency bill at a pace that I can afford and there is nothing wrong with that. My cat’s life was saved, I’m in some debt for now, but it’s nothing I can’t deal with. And he’s ALIVE! There is WAY more to being a responsible pet owner than just having money in the bank :)
