So I had a mighty desire to draw the parallels I saw between Gravity Falls and Over the Garden Wall. Each picture had gotten progressively more intricate, and the reason why I didn’t go back to add anything is because I thought it was fitting since both shows started out as something simple, but built up into something much more!  

The last picture is just an extra I had doodled, and sorry about some of the quality, I only have my phone camera to take pictures with!

I guess where a lot of modern AU versions of Link and Zelda fall short for me is, like, okay, Link is a feral elf, but he also saves the world by solving logic puzzles. It’s totally valid for modern!Link to be some sort of forest-dwelling survivalist weirdo, but it’s equally valid for him to be That Guy who built a working 3D printer out of plywood and string and you’re pretty sure he coded his smartphone’s operating system himself. Modern!Link would absolutely have a YouTube channel where he test-fires potato guns that violate the Geneva Conventions, is what I mean to say.

(The equivalent modern!Zelda, meanwhile, would probably run a video blog where she posts largely uncommentated demonstrations of practical home synthesis of chemical compounds whose names you cannot pronounce but which can set concrete on fire. Sometimes she lets Link field-test her latest creations. She is on so many watchlists.)

I would like to make the paint brand “Angelus” known. It is a special paint that is for leather, faux leather, rubber, and similar surfaces.

This is literally the best paint you can buy if you love a pair of shoes, but they aren’t in the right color for your character.

This stuff coats VERY well AND the coats of paint bend with your shoes. This means no cracking!!

In the photos above I took black rain boots and painted them with Angelus Turquoise. As you can see, they don’t look black any more! It’s so good!

I managed to paint two boots with a little one ounce bottle of the paint, and I still have a third of the bottle left over!

The paint dries very fast, so you can put layer on top of layer on top of layer without it streaking.

Also, a little goes a long way, unless you have something HUGE to paint, you can probably do it with a small bottle. I barely dented the one I got doing all the black on this;

I’m in Japan, and having the time of my life viewing flowers without feeling like I’m dying from the pollen (until the mask is off for me to eat). Everybody here wears masks for being sick, avoiding illness, or for allergies, and it’s honestly great to have the choice without judgement. If you can stand the judgement, start wearing masks (it really helps in avoiding getting sick, too). If not, just reblog.

Please, let’s normalize wearing masks everywhere. Let’s stop making people with hayfever or compromised immune systems suffer!

Welcome to the space age, ladies and gentlemen

This is really quite a big deal. A tremendous amount of modern research ends up being sold to journals which require unreasonable payments to access it and only pay the original authors a pittance. It’s nice to see an agency like NASA deliberately widebanding its findings.

Not sure if people fully realize just how big of a deal this is. THIS is how science is advanced. Not through biased corporate research, business secrets, marketing, paywalls and patent wars. But through open, uncensored and unrestricted public access to knowledge.
