The Sound of One Brain Thinking

My name is Jessica Mannion, and this is my whirling vortex of time-suck. I'm the curator of Regrettable Poems, and a professional crazy cat lady. Really. Ask me about either. Or not. Please take a moment to follow my links below, and if you're in the film biz, check out my husband Sean. He's awesome.

Poems for The Followers ... Subtract the Drama

Subtract the Drama Regrettable Poet: Jessica Mannion

You stand on a beach in a place in the universe. Where a band I do not know plays on and on, eternally, for you. Your DNA spills and spreads expands, Contracts, and Pulls together in my mind because I do not really know how DNA works. Something about zippers and letters and secrets. But you, you keep your secrets. I wish you love. And beaches. And no drama.

Note: This is the first in what I hope will be a fun series of poems for new followers. I will write a poem for each new follower I get, starting with this one. The poem will be inspired only by the person’s Tumblr account.

Subtract the Drama deserved more love, too.

Clams: Outlandish! Scintillate … Clams: hell yeah! Agitate … Debonaire … Yet Sinister Reprobates (Clams) Sinister airs Thinkin’ Plottin’ Planning stuff Clams: They’ll scorn you And rebuff All thoughtful, neighborly approaches They suspect your pies are full of roaches. Clams won’t thank you for your labors. Clams make super lousy neighbors. Clams. Clams. Clams.

The poem will be inspired only by the person’s Tumblr account — unless I know them in real life, then all bets are off …

I’m bummed the Clams poem never got any attention.
