Awesome.
Remember that moment in ITSV, when Miles first meets his world's Spider-Man and their spider senses do the thing?
The background behind Peter is as we'd expect; the classic red and blue.
But at first Miles' background is green and purple, two colors he's never associated with at all throughout the movie. As the moment goes on, it shifts to match Peter's.
We are literally watching Miles' fate change and the anomaly happen.
It's well established that the spider that bit him was not supposed to even be in that universe, meaning our Miles was supposed to be something else before it happened.
This isn't true for ITSV, but in every other version of Spider-Man, the main color scheme for the Prowler is green and purple.
Our Miles was supposed to become the next Prowler in his world. And the only reason he's not, is because of the original Prowler. Miles switched his fate with Earth-42 Miles.
Okay but using Karen for the betterment of others is a genius move I never could have seen coming
Be the good Karen you want to see in the world
You can be a lawful evil Karen or a chaotic good Karen. Choose wisely
A caren
yeah turtlenecks are sexy too bad they’re also one of the worst sensory experiences fashion has ever developed
me wearing a turtleneck and fighting back nausea at the sensation: haha aren’t i hot *gags* anyone want to admit they have a crush on me
same thing with chokers. look how attractive and cool and punk i look now if you’ll excuse me i need to go take this off right now or i am going to throw up
I've seen this before, but it's been years and it just came across my Twitter in its dying days. The words are from a favorite author of mine, Maggie Stiefvater, and they are the words I most need to hear when it comes to dealing with chronic pain and illness. I didn't need this the first time I saw it, six years ago. I need it now. Maybe you do, too.
I'm loving this new trend of people going to zoos and participating in animal enrichment. We use to observe large exotic animals for our entertainment, but the fact is that we are now trying to make ourselves equally as entertaining for them. It's interactive, completely parpicipatory and I would argue that eventually someone's gonna come up with something new enough that it expland ethologists understanding about how some animals think, problem solve, communicate and feel and I think its fantastic.
Human: play?
Aquatic creature from an entirely different branch of the animal tree: play!

ace culture is being unaware of your sexuality and not understanding the appeal of games like fuck/kiss marry kill and smash or pass bc isn't everyone just a pass
This is how I imagine i look like when people talk to me about romantic/sexual relationships.
If women’s bodies belong to their father until marriage, and a wedding marks the transfer of that property to the groom, then when do women’s bodies ever belong to themselves?
If we are not considered in control of our bodies, how are we to control our fates and our minds? Let me set the record straight here and now: Women are not made whole by men. Women are made whole the moment they enter this world.
If society would accept that women, and women only, own their bodies, then perhaps they could understand that when a woman speaks, her words have weight. She does not need them to be approved or conveyed by a amn. Men do not know better than us what is appropriate
I know I told this story before but last year I was having complications with a surgery and I just broke down in a public place and I was trying to gather myself, sitting and leaning on a wall when this girl in cowboy boots approached me and sat down and she asked what was wrong and I told her it was medical issues and she said “I understand, I have to have my foot amputated next week” and it shocked me out of crying and I was like “wow that sucks!” And she said “yeah.” And then she just touched my arm so tenderly and told me “I promise you that this problem will have its place, and everything is going to work out.” And the way she said it just made me really believe her. She said. “We’re just gonna have to cowgirl up.” And then she stood up and walked away and I’d call that a genuine encounter with an angel but the truth is there is a lot of goodness right here on earth in humanity and it’s shining and pure.
Okay but “this problem will have its place” is genuinely inspiring
THAT REALLY STRUCK ME because I’ve always hated the tired rhetoric of “this happened for a reason” and this feels like a more genuine, comforting take on that. Not “it happened for a reason,” but “this will find its spot in your life and your future that it fits into in a way that will eventually work out even though it sucks that it happened.” Love that.
shadow and bone proves that as long as you treat the source material and the characters with respect, you don't have to make everything "book accurate"
