reblog if your name isn't Amanda.

2,121,566 people are not Amanda and counting!

We’ll find you Amanda.

this has almost 11 million notes what is this

I’ve never seen this post once in 10 years on this site

a silly little boy who likes to have fun, oliver is the baby of the family. he likes to dance and bounce and wiggle, his favorite time of day is the mornings, and he's a BIG fan of a good spring mix. he also never ever tries to steal muffin wrappers or goldfish crackers. vote for oliver and he will duck his head at you to demand you pet him! (he will do this regardless of what you vote)

freddie may be a gecko of indeterminate age, but he's a genial old man at heart. his last owner didn't keep his tank humid enough causing all of his toe tips to have fallen off, so this little man slips and slides wherever he goes. his favorite pastimes are staring pensively into his pool of water and getting bummed out when he fails to catch a bug. freddie would be honored to have your vote!

introducing two additional designs to show you voted right!

all of them are free for personal use, just please credit me if you put them somewhere on your blog :)

and if you feel like throwing some change my way, you can buy me a kofi here ;)

they're now also available on redbubble as stickers and buttons!

Me recommending woe.begone to people: it’s one of the best time travel stories I’ve heard in any medium and it handles shifting context and consequences in a way that is fascinating and engaging. It also deals with autonomy and individuality and personhood as a person is faced with both organizations and people controlling his actions and coming face to face with himself in a way that forces him to confront himself in a new way. About how even if something didn’t happen it’s echos and ramifications and impact on people and the world still matter. It’s got horror, it’s got mystery, it’s got humor, it’s got introspection and hard choices, there are even cowboys.

Also Mike Walters does saw his left arm off at the shoulder, but they warn you pretty effectively when that’s going to happen.

I love rotation

20: sc each st around (24)

21: (2 sc, dc) x6 (18)

Fasten off and leave a long tail for stitching later !!

Horns (I used a 3.0 mm hook) (Black yarn)

Make two !!

1: 3 sc in mc (3)

2: inc in each st around (6)

3: (sc, inc) x3 (9)

Cape (I use a 3.0 mm hook) (Yellow yarn)

Chain 14. I used half double crochet but you can use whatever you like, it just has to wrap around mini John nicely. in the case of my plush i did 32 rows of half double crochet.

Sewing together:

Sew on the horns first, and then do the eyes. I embroidered mine in, but you can use whatever you like !!

for the cape, sew a button into one top corner. in the other corner, chain enough to loop over the button and then slip stitch into the same side as the chain to make a loop.

I recommend using the string from the body rather than the head to stitch, but use whichever is more comfortable with you. go layer by layer and slow. you are stitching together the head, hood and body all at one time.

Then, you have made a mini John. Take care of him !! Or not, he deserves to go in a salad spinner, too.

Reblogging for when I learn how to crochet

Journalistic Integrity RE: Newt Schottelkotte’s RQ Article

This section of Schottelkotte’s article struck me as strange:

Then, I read the full version of the quote Schottelkotte used from Callum Dougherty’s Medium interview. Schottelkotte writes “TMA wasn't nearly the smash hit Dougherty describes until about 2019,” but in their quotation, Schottelkotte selectively omitted a middle paragraph in which Dougherty specifically acknowledges TMA’s growth in 2019 in order to paint Dougherty (and RQ by extension) in a negative light.

The Dougherty interview (Emphasis mine — italics show the omitted paragraph):

BC: A back catalog so large can be overwhelming for a listener, but I think that’s actually been a key part of your success and why people keep coming back. Magnus Archives has been around since 2016, but I’m curious to know when it started gaining traction?
CD: Believe it or not, Magnus was something of a hit right out the gate. Comparative to I guess what would be considered a popular audio-drama podcast now. It found an audience quite quickly.
Though what I would certainly say is that it was in 2019 that the show began to grow, and it went on what I would describe as a 10-month journey from being considered a very popular podcast, to the most popular fiction podcast in the world. That was a line of growth that looked pretty much like a straight line upwards, where we were finding month-on-month listenership doubling at a point. Every single month you could see it — there were hundreds of thousands, now there was a million this month, and it would go in that direction.
To borrow a phrase from Alex Newall [Rusty Quill CEO and founder], I’d also mention that nothing at Rusty Quill — despite what it might seem — has ever happened by accident. And the factor that I would consider — and this may be my own ego — is the show began to grow really dramatically because this was the point that I came in.

In contrast, this is the portion of the Dougherty interview quoted in Schottelkotte’s RQ article:

Schottelkotte’s selective omission gives the reader a VERY different impression of Dougherty’s words, and bends the truth in order to support their narrative. Personally, I’d even go so far as to call it a deliberate misquotation.

TL;DR: Journalistic integrity requires (among other things) fairness, impartiality, truth, and accuracy. As a result of this twisting of the truth, in addition to Schottelkotte’s initial failure to identify themselves as Marketing Director for Fable & Folly Network, I would not trust Newt Schottelkotte as a credible source.

Is it gay to find subject of your evil time travel studies charming? Is it gay to say his eyes are mesmerizing? Is it gay to put on a cowboy hat to feel closer to him? Is it gay to risk your very existence to tell him he's your favorite just before you transport him to Texas in order to save him from different versions of you that are not so much in love with him?

Whatttttt noooooooooo 🤥

Do not stop listening to rq network shows! I feel the need to reiterate that boycotting or god forbid publicly dragging rq network shows is only going to hurt the creators!

I can't vouge for every show, but i know that loads of rqn creators are putting everything they can into their work - eskew and silt verses, malevolent, old gods of Appalachia, just to make a few, are making huge contributions to the podcast world and it would be devastating to lose them to misguided anger.

It seems pretty clear that good, neutral, or bad, they aren't able to talk much about things, but i have seen the creators of woe be gone and malevolent both already voice concerns that this will lead to false assumptions being made about how they run things, the ethics of them as people and creators, and their relations with the network.

Bottom line: listen to and support the artists!!!

It's come to my attention that a good portion of the younger generation has not been made aware of one of the greatest and most hated PILLARS of millennial society.

So I apologize, but I must take on this task. A new hand must touch the beacon. The knowledge must be passed on. The chain can not be broken.

So.

The Game.

The following are the rules of The Game:

  1. there is no winning The Game
  2. once you know of The Game, you are always playing the game
  3. the point of The Game is to not think about The Game
  4. if you think about The Game, you have lost The Game, and must announce this to those around you - causing them to also lose The Game

A "reset period" of roughly an hour or two before loss announcements is common in colloquial rules to allow yourself and those around you to properly temporarily "forget" about The Game, however that is not an official rule.

Go forth, you next generation, and I am sorry.

What have you done

HOW COULD YOU
