i’m reading a very manly 1950s account of a hunt for el dorado but i’m thirty pages in and the narrator has already described his traveling companion as “handsome” 4 times, “extremely handsome” twice, “exceedingly handsome” once, his voice as “quietly husky” and “a husky whisper,” his fingers as long and deft, his body as “tall and cat-like,” and his eyes as some variation of ice-blue at least three times.

One of the (many) things I love about DS9 is how Sisko listens to the people around him, and values and respects their opinions and viewpoints and feelings. Another thing I love: everything about Kira. She stands up for herself and her people and her beliefs, and she takes no crap from anyone who doesn’t like it.

Every time I watch Star Trek and I hear someone yell “Captain on the bridge!” I imagine this really cute scenario where everyone has a competition to see who can say “Captain on the bridge!” first so everyone screams it as soon as they see him so it’s all jumbled and loud and Kirk laughs so hard he has to leave I just think that would be adorable
