I'm laughing so hard over here. Of all the social networks to think they can get in a standoff with the userbase and win, lol.

The thing that makes any social network work is community. Subreddits are platform agnostic, and the mods have huge amounts of power. If they decamp somewhere else, Reddit users are the best poised to follow. Because they don't feel trapped in the system the way Facebook or even Twitter users might. Because they show up to their subs for the subs, not because their families are there or because they have so many photos uploaded to the memories or even the personal connections.

I eagerly await what happens next. Cuz if Reddit execs think their platform is the necessary part of Reddit they're about to get schooled.

Reddit execs have been gearing up for an IPO and this user revolt will probably torpedo that. AND THEY DID IT TO THEMSELVES.

As much as I dislike Dischord I will probably be over there for a couple of the subs I subscribed to - that's where they're camping for now. And these were not huge subs but large, one was over 20K and the other 150k+ for gaming stuff.

Basically every Cracker Barrel restaurant has one of these stupid peg games on every table, something to amuse & confound diners while they wait for their food.

Game starts with one empty hole. The idea is to remove pegs by jumping them into the empty hole, just like in checkers. Winning is accomplished by having exactly one (1) peg left.

But as a lifelong usa southerner however I have never heard it described as pegging but that’s definitely what I’m calling it from now on.

I work at UPS loading trucks and our strike authorization vote was this week. They're still counting and gathering the last of the votes, but from what I've heard (at my union local at least) we're all ready to strike if UPS brings it to that. They've fucked around for too long and it's about damn time they found out. ✊

My cousin was a pilot for UPS and they went on strike a few times and it works. Improved their rest time/flight routes/home time. It can work for the delivery side as well.

I think everyone’s mathematical journey would have been so much easier if they showed you the sine, cosine, and tangent unit circle (R=1) animation in precalc

Fun fact: I couldn’t get into college until I passed Algebra II in community college with a C+ after struggling with all of this.

Also fun: none of this math has ever come up in my personal or professional life ever, not once, not fucking ever.

My not-understanding math of this type continues and in fact this causes me dread seeing it. Glad if it makes sense to someone but my brain doesn’t process math beyond basics. Which is a reason I’ll probably never have an actual degree in anything as I’ve never had even pre-algebra.
