Darwyn Cooke’s first foray into comics with Talent Showcase #19 (1985, DC Comics)
According to Roger Moore’s autobiography he witnessed Christopher Reeve walking through the canteen at Pinewood Studios in full Superman costume oblivious to the swooning female admirers he left in his wake. When he did the same thing dressed as Clark Kent no one paid any attention.

THE SHOVEL KNIGHT IS GONNA DIG YOU A NEW ASSHOLE
I received a lot of kind comments on my previous Mary Marvel drawing so I wanted to try to create an actual comic with her. I’ve never done a comic like this before, but it was a lot of fun to experiment with something new!
I will stop reblogging this when it stops being funny.
My mom made it for me.
The comic in the middle is Superman for all Seasons. Definitely a good read.

Speaking of good Superman stuff DC’s putting out, I’m really enjoying Greg Pak and Aaron Kuder’s run on Action Comics so far. It’s a great read and I’m so glad Lana Lang’s getting a place to shine. I’ve been using this to warm-up over the last couple of weeks. Anyhow, if you’re wanting some quality Superman go give the last few issues of Action Comics a look!
As much as I love Doc Shaner's art, there's something incredibly depressing about seeing him draw the New 52 costume. It just feels... wrong.
Holy socks, is this ever a beautiful cover :D
I cannot buy this soon enough
Iron Giant??
Just noticed Lois is modeled after Amy Adams in Man of Steel. Very nice touch.
So I was driving home and something occurred to me that I want to write about real fast, because i am apparently incapable of experiencing moments of learning and NOT sharing it here.
I have been, over time, fond of making jokes about Kieron Gillen killing off Kate Bishop. To me, it’s a joke...
UNWRITTEN COMMANDMENTS OF HAWKGUY:
I. THOU SHALT NOT KILL PIZZA DOG
II. CLINT AND KATE SHALT NOT BUMP UGLIES
III. THOU SHALT NOT FRIDGE KATE BISHOP
A mouth-watering fuck-ton of gun references.
Before you draw any gun, be absolutely certain you are familiar with the parts of a gun. That sounds cliché and dumb, but if you end up wondering “Why does this thing look so shitty?” it’s probably ‘cause you don’t know how a gun works. Know how it moves and what fits in where. And please know where the hands are placed when firing!!! If you hold a gun at the wrong place, you can lose a finger! Don’t know enough about guns, let alone what type to utilize? Here (the Glock and the “Frag Nade” are mixed up):
And if you’re pro on guns, here’s an orgasmic list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_firearms

I’m always a fan of the minigun………

Dem’s some nice references. Yup. Nice references indeed. For… art. Yeah, art. Dat’s right.
Never again draw guns like a four year old! Bang! Bang!
This is depressing the hell out of me. So many Superman stories recently subvert the core of the character, no one knows what Superman is suppose to stand for anymore.
Young Justice: “It’s realistic to push away your clone/son, despite the fact the kid is desperate for guidance. Trust me there...
Believe me, I know how you feel. Between New 52, Man of Steel, and Injustice, 2013 was a very frustrating year to be a Superman fan. But there are writers out there that are treating the character with respect. Greg Pak's current Action Comics run is fantastic. Adventures of Superman is a mixed bag of quality due to the rotating stable of writers and artists, but there have been more good stories than bad. And Geoff Johns being put on Superman gives me hope. His run on Action a few years back was some of the best Superman I've seen.
I don't agree with a lot of what DC does with the character, but we're much better off now than we were a year ago IMO. It's all part of being a superhero fan. Ignore the bad stories and elevate the good ones.
I don’t know if this can be useful to anyone. It’s not perfect by any means but perspective is a lot based on the artist own sensibility, I merely offer a starting point.
A glorious fuck-ton of perspective angle references (per request).
