I read a post recently that was about how traditionally big manors were supposed to be fully equipped to host guests and their own staff for weeks or even months at a time and how those guests could range from friends and family to important dignitaries to famous artists and most of those homes were always hosting someone just by their nature.
And that was really interesting to read about and put a lot of period pieces and historical social structures into perspective, but it got me thinking. Now I really want a period comedy that's centered around the extensive staff of a huge manor house with a constantly changing cast of eccentric guests coming and going, except no one knows who owns the house. You never see the actual family and this is a running joke in the show. The staff members have no idea who the lord or lady of the house is because no who stays there actually stays.
What I really want especially is for increasingly zany shenanigans where the staff latches onto someone in the house as the most like lord or lady and treats them as the head of the house. . . until that person leaves and the staff members are back to square one.
Also there's an artist who is a frequent guest in the house and claims that the lord is his "patron" (read: lover). There is absolutely no proof of this and the artist spends his appearances in the show lounging around, eating expensive food and working on his latest pieces and giving increasingly contradictory descriptions of this supposed lord.
Your f/os are not only okay with you being proship, they support you in it, no matter if you actively enjoy problematic ships or just believe in ship and let ship.
Maybe your f/o doesn't care one way or another, they just understand that it's all fictional and no one is being harmed.

C. Here's the real secret of their "success"; they're all bad people. That's literally it. They're willing to lie, steal, cheat, bully, oppress, rape, etc to get what they want, and their appetites are never sated, so they never stop lying, cheating, etc. You don't get that kind of money through hard honest work. If you're willing to be a big enough piece of shit, you could easily be one of these guys.
So yeah, if someone's offering that choice, get it in writing and stay the hell away from these creeps.
