Fun fact Tesla is also the only major automotive manufacturer not represented by a union. Which can be directly traced to the brands legendarily bad build quality. Treat your workers like shit and you get a shit car. Massive panel gaps, improperly installed interior components. Tesla is far as I'm aware is the only brand that won't allow you to closely inspect your car or enter the interior before signing off on delivery. Check the Tesla subreddit yourselves lol. See numerous horror stories about signing off on the car and then immediately finding broken doors from the factory, improperly installed windshields that shatter themselves within weeks of receiving. Broken head units, peeling and sagging headliner. The extra icing on the cake is you can't take a Tesla to a normal repair garage because there designed like iPhones so you'll be waiting in hell for 7 months for an appointment at a Tesla authorized service center who will then have a back and forth arguing that you broke the car on the delivery and there not responsible for fixing it.

This problem is nothing new, but this specific example with these numbers puts it into a fucking brutal perspective.

To put these numbers a different way: A Taco Bell burrito that used to cost ~7 minutes and 20 seconds of minimum wage work now costs ~30 minutes and 30 seconds of minimum wage work.

You used to be able to work at Taco Bell anywhere in the country and make enough money in one hour to buy at least 8 burritos (maybe 9 if you're a manager or something) and feed, like, 3-4 people a decently-filling meal. But now, the same amount of work at the same job will get you one meal for one person. And this change has happened over a mere 15 years.

Remember this whenever you see rich people demonize younger generations for our financial situations, when they call us irresponsible for not investing a ton of money in savings accounts.

I don't think the Netflix Avatar show likes women very much. It's a great show for fans of Aang, Sokka, Zuko, and Iroh specifically. All four of those characters get a ton of great material. In fact, it's super great for Sokka stans, because the show takes him ultra-seriously and can't go five minutes without one character or another (usually a woman) praising him.

But the way it handles its female cast is troublesome.

on the one hand this is a joke post because lol i have never made a good post in my life, but also, if i hadn’t made the connection between this update and my sudden nosedive in activity, i would have been really fucking discouraged about all the shit i’ve been working on lately. i guarantee there are people on tumblr right now who haven’t made that connection, and who are trying to figure out why suddenly no one likes anything they’ve made. and that fucking sucks.

Reminder to go into your settings and turn off ‘Best Stuff First’ because my activity’s tanked a couple days ago for no reason so this stuff IS happening.

You WILL miss content with that setting on.

We interrupt your regularly-scheduled sci-fi content because this is important for app users, and it sucks. We all follow blogs because we want to see their content, not to have a crappy algorithm decide what’s best.

This blog is down approximately 80%, which doesn’t affect me other than as an annoyance (as this is a hobby and @okayto is small-ish) but the issue undoubtedly hurts others.
