used to be really into pinball and spent most of my free time at arcades, but eventually I just couldn't stomach that part of the game where the scoreboard gets all wavy and hypnotic and in an instant you find yourself transported to the tabletop at a minuscule size and have to dodge the steel ball as it zips past you from every angle and you look up through the glass and see yourself operating the flippers with a dead eyed expression starting into infinity as if in another world and it keeps going until you're cornered against a big bouncy triangle and the ball barrels into you and you feel its weight crushing your ribs and your breath wheezes out one last time and in a flash you're yourself again standing at the head of the machine and it's going crazy with lights and colors and you realize you've beaten the high score again, and the onlookers cheer and clap you on the back but you don't join in the celebration, don't even smile. you simply walk away
something charmingly twentieth century about this
Let’s tithe all our blood to a dark and malevolent force
Why would we do that

Do y’all think siblings in medieval times would look at the little beasts in illuminated manuscripts and point at each other like ‘ha! ‘Tis thou!’
Lets all suck on glass together and make the aquarium clean for everyone
baby girl turn up the eurobeat i can still hear the car rims grating against the curb
so if you wanna know how Twitter's going:
it's currently broken, because Elon Musk had everyone change the Twitter logo to Kabosu/the Doge meme.
this is presumably to distract everyone from the fact that he's currently being sued for defrauding Dogecoin investors.
truly a genius. they'll never think he did it.
It’s too bad the like impostorposting meme shifted out of the zeitgeist by the time people started truly trying to master it and analyze the meta because I really think it could’ve been a true mainstay. Like you still see good new ones occasionally but it’s not as big as it could’ve been

Hold on what was that. Something scurried up my dash just now. What the hell was that
the idea that your friends won't like you if you're too weird is wrong for example one time I told a friend whenever I was losing my mind I laid down on the floor under my desk and stared at it until I was better and next time she visited me she taped a bag of salami snacks to the underside of my desk with a message saying "going insane all by yourself, handsome?" which I only saw months later when I had a breakdown. that's friendship.
Imagine being the last owner of Hanako, that 226 year old Japanese koi that was spawned in 1751 and died in 1977. A fish that outlived 7 emperors. A fish that survived the Second World War. And she dies in your care. I would never recover.
I would find peace in that she felt comfortable enough to finally rest in my company. Fish remember faces and voices of their caretakers. Perhaps she loved the last too much to watch them die before her, too.
oh….yeah…maybe
