ATTENTION ZINE CREATORS, ARTISTS, AND ANYONE WHOSE BUSINESS UTILIZES PRE-ORDERS AND PAYPAL
As of June 15th, 2018, PayPal has changed their user policy with little to no fanfare at all in ways that could literally destroy your business. I’m going to say this as plainly as possible:
DO NOT USE PAYPAL AT ALL IF POSSIBLE.
I know this is a lot to ask, especially since PayPal is the most globally accepted digital tender, but unless you want to lose access to your funds for six months and PayPal possibly forever, you need to read this.
PayPal Business accounts are now being flagged, locked, and completely shut down if:
1. If you haven’t shipping anything within 21 days of your first transaction
2. You’ve received more than 200 orders
and/or
3. You’ve made an excess of $20,000 (USD)
If this happens to you, you will not be able to access your money for up to six months. PayPal is NOT willing to work with you, all they will say is there’s nothing they can do, they’re cutting business ties, and offer you the MAILING address of their legal department. That’s right, you can’t even get a direct line to these people, they’re just going to tank your business by dicking around with your money for six months. Your only options are to:
1. Wait six months and frustrate customers, and by-proxy tarnish your reputation.
2. Refund everyone, possibly lose their business, and tarnish your reputation.
3. Pursue the matter legally, which will likely take longer than six months anyway, not to mention cost money out of pocket.
IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY USING A PAYPAL ACCOUNT FOR PRE-ORDERS, GET OUT NOW. Deposit your funds and part ways with PayPal as a tender, this is not a battle they’re willing to let you win.
*siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*
Thankfully most of my stuff is filtered through other sites first but fucking here we go again.
It used to be you could get around this by marking your stuff as digital goods that dont need shipment notification but I dunno if that’ll work anymore. All I know is paypal has been making it increasingly difficult for a lot of artists and creators lately and it’s a logistical nightmare for a lot of us.
I need to finish my storefront.
Why are they doing this? It seems to make their service clumsy and unusable. Is Paypal drunk and dumped so badly they turned mean??
It’s likely another way to try and stop sex workers or adult content creators from using their services.
It started out with “you can’t use a stage name unless you have a business account”. Which means you get a chunk of your money taken as a processing fee, but get to use a “business” name instead of your real name AND LOCATION, cause that’s a thing they were forcing you to post too unless you upgraded.
People used to tell me all the time when they put a tip in my tip jar that it was telling them my real name and the city I lived in, so eventually I bit the bullet and upgraded to avoid that. (Which is why ko-fi was/is so great, because it’s essentially a paypal wrapper that lets you use the service while not revealing your identity and location.)
But they’ve been making it increasingly harder and harder to run an online business for anyone who doesn’t ship physical items that can be tracked. Like part of it is likely to ensure that customers are getting what they paid for, but when it comes so quickly on the heels of numerous policy updates regarding sex work and adult content, it is undoubtedly linked to making it more difficult for those people to use their services.
Patreon might be doing my head in with their site constantly breaking, and they fuck up on communication issues a lot, but this is largely why they changed who they do their payment processing with, to avoid paypals “no naughty business” policies. They still use paypal and Stripe, but they moved their handler to other countries with less draconian laws, and broadened to other payment processors because of this kind of thing.
When I get my own site up, I will not be using paypal, which sucks cause everyone uses paypal. But I also cannot abide their business practices and ethics. Or the apparent lack thereof.
I contacted Paypal TODAY so if you guys could spread this around so people that use paypal would know that’d be great!
So when you do digital goods you go to “TRACKING INFORMATION” and then select “ORDER PROCESSED” and you’ll be fine and won’t get into trouble!
reblogging for the last part to save a life cuz I was getting the “shipping info” stuff added to my digital commissions and i just ignored it cuz it wasn’t relatvent but i went through and updated it to “order processed”
Well, I gotta do this so don’t hate me past commissioners :’3
ya know ive been telling this for the past fuckin 4 yrs of using paypal as a means of income and invoice
the following you MUST do if you are a nsfw/sfw content creator
-ALWAYS set each and every goods and service exchanged’s shipping details to “order processed” it tells paypal that you have processed the order and does NOT require a shipping label to be created
-when naming invoices, dont use anything that says like “cum gargling ball buster 9000 featuring princess peach from mario”, that will get you blocked since you arent selling any physical media and to paypal’s guidelines that soliciting sex/prostitution (only if you refuse to file the first step or fill it as the first step)
-NEVER have commissioners send money as “a friend” to bypass the processing fee, its a few $ that you arent receiving, get tf over it, its better than dealing with legal issues, have them send as “goods and service” and if they dont send as that refund the money back (this keeps you on good legal ground)
-when naming invoices just simply state the type of comm ie: “Cell shade +bg + 1 add char: Sluggirl OC” its that easy
and if people wanna argue with me, then lemme tell ya, ive used paypal EXACTLY like this for 4 fuckin years and the only thing that ive had happen was someone was attempting login somewhere and they notified me and i changed my password. I have OVER 200 invoices, and not ONCE have i needed to ship an actual item and ive been doing nsfw SINCE 2014
so all of this is a scare thing cause someone hates paypal or just doesnt properly understand paypal’s ToS. so ALL the artists that follow me and use paypal dont fall for this stupid clickbaity bs is just follow my steps and youll be 100% FUCKIN FINE
HELL i even have a paypal business debit card that i got at 210 invoices in and i was PRE-APPROVED so this whole fuckin thing pisses me off with the negligence in understanding their ToS and business practice it just UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH
Dang, boost!

PLEASE, PLEASE STOP SCROLLING.
BOOST, BOOST, BOOST! Especially if you don’t live in the U.S., because that’s all you can do to help us.
If you DO live here, this post has 5 things you can do; feel free to skip to the bullet points.
I’m sure you’re sick of seeing this, but we are in the final stages of the Net Neutrality repeal. I know long posts about this can be overwhelming, so at least just pick a bullet point and do it! HOPE IS NOT LOST YET.
WE STILL HAVE ONE LAST CHANCE — Until April 27th
There’s a CRA (Congressional Review Act) vote to get Net Neutrality back, and it may still win. THIS IS BECAUSE OF US!!! Enough people in congress listened to our calls, emails, and tweets, so a CRA has been called for to try and stop Ajit Pai.
Long posts about this can be overwhelming, so I’ll keep it simple and just list some quick and easy options below for how you can help save it. WE’VE ALREADY MADE PROGRESS, KEEP GOING! WE’RE SO CLOSE! I’m lucky enough to have the ability to do these, so I’m doing all of them, even though it’s hard for me. Do it for the people who can’t. Do it for those who will LOSE THEIR JOBS or their educations or their friends or their support. Do it for the kids too young to use a phone. Do it for the families who might be put out of homes. Do it for everyone.
WE NEED ONE MORE SENATE VOTE. DO AT LEAST ONE OF THESE 5 THINGS IF YOU’RE PHYSICALLY CAPABLE
[Info and Resources for Action]
- FIRST OFF, if you don’t know what to say, here are some basic templates as well as my own that have had an effect in the past.
- For your Senator’s contact info (phone/email/twitter/etc): http://act.commoncause.org/site/PageServer?pagename=sunlight_advocacy_list_page
[Action to Take]
KEY: bold = most important, *** = quickest/easiest to do
- Here you can write anything and they’ll email it around: https://www.battleforthenet.com/
- *** OR just scroll down and click a Senator to tweet them.
- *** Just type your zip code here, and it’ll email/tweet your Senators! https://www.publicknowledge.org/act-now/tell-congress-to-use-the-cra-to-save-net-neutrality/#anchor
- Text RESIST to 50409 (reply Senate, then copy any of the templates or write your own) — it’ll automatically email/fax it
- *** Reblog, Retweet, and tell people as much as possible! But that alone isn’t enough. Get your friends/family/classmates to do these, too!!!
If you can do this last one, if you’re at all able, do it.
- Call the Capitol at 202-224-3121. Just say where you’re from and they’ll transfer you to your senator’s office. Here’s a template for what to say:
“Hello, I’m [name], and I’m a constituent of Senator [name]. I’m calling to urge them to vote in support of net neutrality, as it is very important to the general public. I am watching their actions on net neutrality, and it will influence my vote in coming years. Thank you!”
(This also works as a great template for tweets/emails to your Senators)
Side Note: You can go here to see how many calls each of your Sen/Reps have already received: https://www.battleforthenet.com/scoreboard/ – it’s cool to see that a lot of calls CAN AND HAVE change(d) the vote!
THIS IS 2018 — WE CAN VOTE THEM OUT THIS YEAR AND THEY KNOW IT. USE THAT LEVERAGE.
I will be doing this when i get home! And so should you!
THANK YOU @yt-memes! I finished doing all of these, and I’m so glad I did. Back in December we managed to change one of our Reps’ mind, which is saying something considering how conservative Texas is lol. So if WE could do it back then, Y’ALL have a shot at it now, but only if we really, really try.
It’s so easy to just reblog these things, but actually DOING it is what makes the difference, so thank god for people like you
Sharing is the least i can do. I’m not able to do any of this but for the love of god, PLEASE help. This isn’t something to be brushed off and thinking “someone will do it” isn’t enough. This is super important.
Thank you for doing what you can! You’re absolutely right, nothing will happen if everyone just thinks someone else will do it. We need EVERYONE who can to do it so we stand a chance
How Net Neutrality will Recede Post-April 23d, 2018
The Following text is copied from the thread of the official twitter of fightforthefuture.org:
@fightfortheftr (April 19, 2018): There have been a lot of inaccurate reports that the FCC’s repeal of #NetNeutrality will officially go into effect next week on April 23rd. That’s not true. It’s a bit more complicated than that. Ready? Here we go:
Its understandable many journos are confused by this. It’s legitimately confusing. The FCC order said it would go into effect 60 days after publication in the Federal Register, which would have been April 23rd. But, it still has to be approved by the Office of Management & Budget.
There was another FCC filing in the Federal Register that would imply the earliest the OMB could approve this (and its worth noting that approval is basically just a technicality) is actually April 27th, but its likely to happen some time after that, possibly even weeks after.
The most important thing for EVERYONE to understand is that nothing catastrophic or dramatic is going to happen immediately when the FCC rules go into effect. Telecom shills will immediately start saying “See? The sky didn’t fall, we never needed #NetNeutrality.“
They’re lying.
The ISPs aren’t going to immediately start blocking content or rolling out paid prioritization scams. They know Congress and the public are watching them. Rather, the death of #NetNeutrality will be slow and insidious. You might not even notice it at first.
And that’s the worst part. What will happen is over time ISP scams and abuses will become more commonplace and more accepted. They’ll roll out new schemes that appear good on their face but undermine the free market of ideas by allowing ISPs to pick winners and losers.
Over time we’ll see less awesome startups. Less awesome videos. Less diverse online content. And we’ll see more content that our ISPs want us to see. The Internet will be watered down and manipulated. It will change forever in ways that harm our democracy.
But it will take time.
So: don’t fall for ISP lobbyists talking points. They’re ALREADY claiming that #NetNeutrality was never needed since the sky hasn’t fallen, and the rules haven’t even gone into effect. But also don’t panic. The Internet is not going to die next week. Keep calm and keep fighting.
The Senate will vote in a matter of weeks on a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution to block the FCC’s repeal. Now is the moment to get engaged.
Everyone: take action at http://BattleForTheNet.com
Small businesses: sign this letter http://BusinessesForNetNeutrality.com
Retweet & spread!
Without much fanfare (totally apropos, given what’s been happening in the world of the White House in the last 72 hours), President Donald Trump signed an executive order Tuesday that will force recipients of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, Medicaid and low-income housing subsidies to find work or lose their assistance.
Trump quietly signed the long-anticipated order, oddly named “Reducing Poverty in America by Promoting Opportunity and Economic Mobility.” Given that many government agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services, have already begun issuing waivers to Republican governors who want to impose stricter work requirements on Medicaid recipients to cut costs, it will not make much of an impact, according to the New York Times.
The fact remains that most able-bodied adults who receive federal aid in the form of subsidized health care or housing already work—but are still unable to make ends meet; others receive exemptions for legitimate reasons.
From the Times:
The order gave all cabinet departments 90 days to produce plans that impose work requirements on able-bodied aid recipients and block ineligible immigrants from receiving aid, while drafting “a list of recommended regulatory and policy changes” to push recipients off the rolls and into jobs.
…
The aim, Trump aides said … is to prod federal and state officials to take a tougher stance with aid recipients — millions of whom currently receive exemptions from existing work requirements because they are in training programs, provide care for relatives or volunteer their labor.
The Agriculture Department is already pressuring states to impose work requirements in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, the program formerly known as food stamps. Earlier this year, the Department of Health and Human Services granted a waiver to Arkansas so it could require Medicaid recipients to get jobs, participate in job training or engage in job searches at least 80 hours a month.
According to the Kaiser Foundation, most able-bodied adults who do not already have jobs face obstacles in working, including mental problems, criminal records and certain family situations.
Yet the narrative from the Trump administration says differently.
“Our country suffers from nearly record high welfare enrollments,” said Andrew Bremberg, the president’s domestic policy chief, according to the Times, which notes that Temporary Assistance for Needy Families payments to poor people are approaching record lows.
Trump also reportedly wants to change the word “welfare” to include not only cash payments but also food and medical benefits (SNAP and Medicaid).
Or he just doesn’t give AF. And I quote: “Mr. Trump, several aides said, is unconcerned—or perhaps even unaware—of the distinction between cash assistance and other safety-net programs … he calls them all welfare.”
And we know what connotations go along with that.
FFFUUUCCCKKK
Goddammit.
To all the people this bullshit is going to harm and make life even more awful/difficult for: remember that the Republicans are the ones responsible for this shit during the midterm elections this year
AND VOTE THESE HATEFUL SACKS OF SHIT OUT
This is how they kill poor people, slowly and legally
My dad will lose both his home and food stamps from this.
This is murder.
By any other name.
MURDER.
This was done in the UK a few years ago. Within months hundreds were facing an abrupt cessation of benefits. Hundreds more were looking at the same, if somewhat delayed–talking shrunk but not cut benefits, diminished access to services, disability insensitive labor requirements….
Almost all of it landed first, and potentially most harshly, on disabled people. While this will undoubtedly harm people who aren’t disabled, but are otherwise limited in work opportunities (single parents, caretakers, employment deserts, etc), make no mistake that it will be disabled people bearing the brunt of this.

THANKS TO TRUMP’S FCC AND A FAMILY OF RIGHT-WING BILLIONAIRES STATE PROPAGANDA TV IS HERE! AIRING ON A STATION IN YOUR AREA!
A family of conservative multimillionaires owns Sinclair Broadcast Group. And Sinclair Broadcast Group is on the cusp of owning enough local television stations to reach 70 percent of American households. Every news station under Sinclair’s umbrella is required to syndicate commentary that comports with its owners’ ideological views. Over the past 13 months, this has meant regularly providing viewers with the insights of Sinclair’s chief political analyst, former Trump spokesman Boris Epshteyn.
Note: These are TV stations, NOT “networks” so these stations may be your local CBS, NBC, or ABC station. Trump TV won’t be airing ONLY on Fox News anymore.
Naturally, this is what loyalists to and propagandists for the Dear Leader of the Trump Regime want to do with their “news” stations. The goal is to present Trump’s ideological biases as objective truth and create the impression that any opposition is illegitimate and unfounded. This is what happens in autocracies. This is how they operate. But we are not in an autocracy yet. We need to remind them from now on that we are not falling for it and, in November, demonstrate what it really means to be citizens in a democratic republic by driving the Reactionary Party out of every office in the land.
The most disturbing aspect of this story is a newsgroup promoting a specific agenda while couching their language in tones of Truth and Fairness. A Democracy is dependent upon a well-educated populace. The education of a populace requires effort on each of our parts to research on our own what we are “given” as Truth and Fairness. There used to be rules about how many stations a single company could buy and how many different types of media a company could have in a single market. The rules had been designed to ensure a vigorous news market in every part of the country. Then along came Reagan and the Reactionary Party ascendency and those rules started to disappear. And with those rules, a lot of local ownership and programming started to disappear especially TV and radio. The Reactionary Party has been playing a long game on their path to autocracy. What we are seeing now is the endgame, not the beginning.
But that’s the American conservative movement: a bunch of angry sheep who think they’re bold individualists.
As regional newspapers wither and die — and Americans increasingly view national events through an algorithmically customized, ideological filter — local TV news has assumed a heightened importance.
Never the pride of the Fourth Estate, local television journalism has been notorious for its sensationalism, credulity, obsession with crime (particularly, crimes committed by racial minorities), and superhuman corniness. But for all the medium’s liabilities, it retains two rapidly appreciating assets: a nonpartisan image, and genuine ties to communities outside of New York City and Washington, D.C.
These qualities have helped to make “local news organizations” the most trusted source of information in Pew Research Center’s polling on trust in media. They have also made local TV news stations an excellent tool for disseminating propaganda.
And the nation’s largest owner of such stations is using them to do just that.
It has also meant featuring analysis from conservative pundit Mark Hyman, and updates from the “Terrorism Alert Desk” (sensationalized coverage of recent terror attacks from around the world) on a routine basis.
Trump’s War on the Media Has Been Years In The Making
Now, Sinclair is taking its “covert state media” game to new, Orwellian heights: By the end of this month, Sinclair will require all of its local news anchors to condemn “national media outlets” for publishing “fake stories” and “using their platforms to push their own personal bias,” according to internal documents obtained by CNN. Those documents instruct local news directors to air these criticisms of “biased and false news” — criticisms that, of course, echo the president’s own — over and over again, so as “to create maximum reach and frequency.”
As CNN reports:
The instructions to local stations say that the promos “should play using news time, not commercial time.” Like the Epshteyn commentaries, this takes away from local news time.
“Please produce the attached scripts exactly as they are written,” the instructions say. “This copy has been thoroughly tested and speaks to our Journalistic Responsibility as advocates to seek the truth on behalf of the audience.”
The promos begin with one or two anchors introducing themselves and saying “I’m [we are] extremely proud of the quality, balanced journalism that [proper news brand name of local station] produces. But I’m [we are] concerned about the troubling trend of irresponsible, one-sided news stories plaguing our country.”
Then the media bashing begins.
“The sharing of biased and false news has become all too common on social media,” the script says. “More alarming, national media outlets are publishing these same fake stories without checking facts first. Unfortunately, some members of the national media are using their platforms to push their own personal bias and agenda to control ‘exactly what people think’ … This is extremely dangerous to our democracy.”
Then the anchors are supposed to strike a more positive tone and say that their local station pursues the truth. “We understand Truth is neither politically ‘left or right.’ Our commitment to factual reporting is the foundation of our credibility, now more than ever.”
In these “anchor delivered journalistic responsibility message[s],” Sinclair explicitly weaponizes local TV news’ reputation for impartiality to amplify White House talking points. At the end of these messages, anchors are to encourage viewers to send feedback “if you believe our coverage is unfair.” The instructions obtained by CNN stipulate that “corporate will monitor the comments and send replies to your audience on your behalf.”
Sinclair’s propaganda may boast elements of misdirection and subtlety. But its fealty to the Trump administration is utterly transparent. During the 2016 presidential race, Jared Kushner made a deal with Sinclair Broadcast Group: The Trump campaign would provide Sinclair’s local news stations with intimate access to the candidate, in exchange for “fair” coverage of the GOP nominee. Here are some of the ways that Sinclair kept its broadcasts fair and balanced, according to the Washington Post:
News stories and features favourable to Trump or that challenged Clinton were distributed to Sinclair stations on a “must-run” basis — that is, the stations were required by managers in Washington to make room in their evening newscasts or morning programs for them.
… A “must-run” email from Washington managers to stations on Sept. 13 read this way: “DESCRIPTION: Why did Hillary Clinton struggle with disclosing her medical diagnosis? She has been repeatedly faced with previous questions of trust. Can a president lead with so many questions of transparency and trust?…There was no equivalent “must-run” stories examining Trump’s refusal to release his medical or tax records or about questions surrounding his charitable foundation.
When Trump took office, Sinclair was on the cusp of purchasing Tribune media, a merger that would give the firm ownership of enough local stations to reach 70 percent of U.S. homes. But there were two obstacles to such a deal: Federal rules put a cap on the number of local news stations any single entity could own, and also prohibited any company from owning a newspaper and television station in the same media market. Taking on Tribune’s assets would put Sinclair in violation of both those laws.
But by the end of Trump’s first year in office, his appointees to the Federal Communications Commission had abolished both of those regulations. And so, in all probability, a single, superrich family of arch-conservatives will soon dictate standards of “journalistic responsibility” to local TV newsrooms from coast to coast.
Local News Anchors Now Have to Read Pro-Trump Propaganda
Yeah, this really sucks. Just what we need more Fox News style news and opinion reaching the sheep.

Hi everyone,
Ariel Jeffrey Kouakou from Montreal has been missing since March 12, 2018. He went to visit his friend that lived a few blocks away from him, but his friend was not home. Ariel never came back home.
Ariel is was last seen wearing a black coat with a hood, grey pants and yellow shoes. He is about four-foot-seven and 88 pounds.
An amber alert was triggered on Tuesday but was lifted 24 hours after as the criteria to maintain it was no longer being met. As of today (March 16, 2018) Ariel still hasn’t been found.
The police and many volunteers have been canvassing the streets to find him but they have had no luck. There’s also a surveillance video of Ariel walking by and turning around twice. His family believes he was kidnapped.
Canadian/Quebec followers, if you have any information, please contact Info-Crime Montreal at 514-393-1133 or call 911. Anything helps.
In the meantime, a GoFundMe has been set up to help his family as they concentrate their efforts on the search of their son. Please donate if you can, or simply share within your network.
On a personal, we are based in Canada and this story is all we can think about. We pray that Ariel is found.
Still not found. Please keep sharing. (March 19, 2018)
Take it straight from Mignon Clyburn: everything that the FCC says about net neutrality being totally misunderstood and bad for the internet is a lie.
