I know @drawer-board999 and @fluffy-raccoon-artist beat me to the punch designing moms for Wendell and wild but I want to share this rough draft of my version. Her name is Wren and she’s a succubus. A lot of demon families that want the status that came from association with those who ruled their own domain and many of those families sent their daughters to Buffalo Belzer in the hopes he would choose them to be one of his brides. Wren was one of those daughters, but she was also Belzer’s confidant and adviser. He valued her advice more than anyone else’s and he trusted her with secrets he wouldn’t dare tell to anyone else.

She had Wendell and Wild not too long after Belzer’s other children disappeared. She loved her sons. She taught them how to fly, read, write and draw. She also encouraged their creativity and loved when the boys would show her their latest art project.

When the boys were 8 or 9 years old she was summoned to the land of the living and trapped by a demon hunter, she didn’t want to leave her family but the spell used was a modified version of the summoning spell that pulls demons to the land of the living against their will. The demon hunter was a friend of manberg who turns demons he captured into stone and uses them as furniture rather then putting them in jars. She does get changed back and reunite with her family eventually.

She also slaps the shit out of Belzer when she learns he imprisoned their sons just because they wanted to change his scream faire.

- After a ton of trial and error I finally have a complete design for Wendell and Wild’s mom. The hair was the hardest part.

I made her pink because Belzer is blue and the boys are purple so it just made sense to have her a color that makes purple when you mix it with blue

I keep tinkering with the design and it just keeps getting better each time! I am going to keep the color scheme

the kicker is he was being asked if his work was coming from the approach of man vs. nature aka “THE ENVIRONMENT STRIKES BACK” but no. his literal words were along the lines of “sharks are not very scary if you are never in the water so i had to make them scarier, and now they have legs.”

Junji Ito has the best fucking take on horror, which is ‘wouldn’t that be weird’ and then he draws it into the most terrifying thing possible.

One of his strangest stories is about a cursed type of honey that, when ingested, is guaranteed to be the best thing you’ve ever tasted. But, if you consume it, you have a 25% of being flattened like a pancake by a giant tree demon. Characters eat it, get addicted, and that addiction forces them to risk it over and over again until they eventually get turned into a gory puddle by this ghost tree thing. 

It’s a weird story, but the funny part is that Ito wrote it because he thought it would suck to be a mosquito.

Still trying to figure out a design for Raz’s new little sister Marona L. My previous designs didn’t really fit when I put it in with the rest of the Aquatos.

Here’s the Latest one. The hardest part for me has been finding the right head to body ratio.

Finally got a design for her ironed out, the blanket isn’t finished yet, fun fact I traced one of the swirls in Augustus’s beard to get the shape of her curl.

I know I’ve already given my opinions on Donatella Aquato, but I’m just going to say one more thing.

Experiences and environment have a very strong impact on how people will view certain things or people. I know many people love the Aquato family and I don’t think that’s wrong. People are allowed to like whatever character they like for whatever reason (with a few exceptions). But regardless of whether you love them or hate them, you need to respect the counter opinion.

For me personally, I find it difficult to vibe with some of the Aquato’s because their behaviour is similar to my own family. I know to an extent what it’s like to be in Raz’s situation. And the behaviours the Aquato’s have to me don’t seem like a sudden change in response to Raz running, but rather it seems more like that situation aggravated behaviour patterns that already existed.

Anyways, just be mindful when you see someone express an opposite opinion. Characters are allowed to exist in a grey area, being neither fully good or fully bad. But if someone views a character more one way than the other, please respect their opinions and don’t try to push your own too aggressively. (Of course a healthy discourse is fine, but just be careful not to push too much because it may come off as you not respecting that person’s opinions and/or experiences.)

Think they made a mistake cutting some of the dialogue. Dion had an apology that got cut and Donatella had a whole bit explaining to Raz how his father just did a total 180 on psychics (The psychic hatred was probably fords doing, so you can blame cruller for some of these issues) after years of drilling psychic bad into this family so it’s going to take some time to get over that. That dialogue would have helped. There are compilations of cut audio on YouTube

Yeah, I definitely agree that the game would’ve really benefitted with dialogue like that. It’s a real shame they cut it cuz to me it feels like Raz got done dirty because despite everything he did in the games, he barely gets a passing thanks from one or two characters when I really think he deserved way more recognition and a heartfelt apology, ya know? The kid is literally 10 years old and went through so much, he really deserved something.

THE PSYCHONAUTS BEETLEJUICE CROSSOVER AU!!!

The big details of this au are as follows

Lydia Deetz is psychic (and can see the dead)

Lydia is Lili’s cousin (her mom was Truman’s sister)

The Maitland’s house is located just a few miles away from Psychonauts HQ

Lydia’s dad Charles moves them there to work with Truman on getting funding for the Psychonauts and not to build a gated community like in the musical (Truman is family, and getting his brother in law’s organization funding is still a distraction from processing his grief over his late wife)

And that’s about all I have so far.

Now here’s the dilemma, do I have beetlejuice haunt the mainland’s house like in the musical? Or do I move the haunting to the motherlobe?
