I Swear I'm An Adult

@thelinduh

Hello, 20 somethingGamerNerdFitness/health nutShortHopeless with LoveIt's my life, I'm kinda weird, sit back and enjoy.

It’s the responsibility of every service member to know what orders are illegal and that they should be refused. “I was only following orders” is not a defense here.

The Nuremberg defense hasn’t been a valid defense for over 70 years

Brothers and Sisters, know the difference between an order and a lawful order.

Le-Vel Thrive Week One

Yup, you read that right. I am experimenting with supplements again, ad this time, I am trying something that I have constantly refuted as a gimmick. I am not a fan of MLM (multi-layered marketing) companies. In fact, most of them just make me roll my eyes and go "Not another one." Le-Vel Thrive included in this eye rolling reaction. A friend challenged me to try it, and after talking with someone who I trust deeply that is involved with the company, I decided to try it. Without deep details into what this challenge is, I am ultimately giving Thrive 1 month (30 Days) to change my mind about them. Through enough research, you will find there aren't many studies that actually back the claims of the company, and like many MLMs, the only people who swear by it are the people who are selling it to everyone else. I like science, I like quantitative results. I am quite the sceptic about public claims that do not provide any scientific evidence. The biggest issue I have with this company is the fact they do not back their claims up with publically available scientific studies through known research labs, but they put a lot of work into advertising their image. Focusing on selling a lifestyle and community, and not selling health benefits backed by science and doctors. DESPITE ALL OF THIS, my pride, and my curiosity has led me here. Typing up a weekly progress report on whether or not it works, how I feel about it, and my personal observations. First off, I am not associated with any medical research labs, I am not associated with any companies, and I am not doing this to accuse them of false advertising, or even sing their praises, I am a regular person who cares about her health an fitness, and genuinely wants to know once and for all, does it work and is it worth it? Friday 13 March 2020 Day 1 of the Experiment Current weight: 118.8 lb Energy levels: Low/sluggish Health: Recovering from a cold, otherwise great Mood: Usually stressed Current diet and exercise: Mostly balanced diet and fairly active in cardio and in the gym 3-5 days a week I will not be going day by day, but I think mentioning day one will help me keep track of my timelines. I started on this day due to the fact I had been getting over a cold and wanted all cold meds out of my system. The process only occurs in the morning and the rest of the day is left to do whatever you normally do. The 3 step process goes: - Wake up, pop supplement capsule (drink lots of water) - 20-30 min later drink shake - After shake apply patch Boom, all done. That's the entire process. The patch can stay on up to the full 24 hours, so just change out the next morning. The patch does not agree with the skin on my arm. Forarm and biceps front and back, this caused redness and muscle soreness for me. I talked with my friend, she suggested my wrist, shin/ankle, and clavicle, the shins/ankle were fine and the clavicle were fine. The capsule doesn't give me any issues. The shake on the other hand contains soy, it makes my stomach feel uneasy, and makes me feel sluggish. Claims from the company: Weightloss (with proper diet and exercise) Improved mood Improved energy Better digestion Week One: - I have left half a pound (no change to my routine) - Mood wise I feel more annoyed than usual - Energy levels are very low, it is suggested you cut caffeine since the supplements contain caffeine, I consume so much already and I am having massive caffeine withdrawls. - Pooping hasn't changed lol I have had a lot of caffeine headaches.I am feeling a bit more awake in the mornings. Never will I become a morning person, but it has been easier. Sleep has been pretty solid though. I have experienced a lot of muscle soreness whenever I have the patch on my arms, so that is weird. I consume a lot of water (120-160oz on average), and I have been feeling like it isn't enough. I was told to make sure I am consuming more water than normal. I am feeling a bit water logged lately, but ultimately I am not seeing anything special happening yet. I have read there are plenty of people who do not experience any changes until about the third week, so here is to week two!

Whelp, yesterday marked exactly 1 week of “Thriving.” I have found the clavicle placement to not cause my skin to irritate, so the last two days I have altered spots. I am going to do a weekly Thrive update on my Tumblr so I can actually put all my thoughts down at once. First and foremost I can say 1 week hasn’t led to any amazing break throughs, but there have been a few things I have noticed. Heck out my update on tumblr for my unfiltered thoughts. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-BPjLMAp04/?igshid=u69oxis97au6

There is a lot going on here and I have several questions.

5 FUCKIN POUNDS OF BUTTER!

The triple shot on a giant fucken carrot PENETRATING this bird was unnecessary

The butter is all the fluid to cook the rice holy shit like that rice is cooked in 100% butter after they did That with the carrot and literally buried the chicken in butter 😭

No way that’s ready after only one hour. A single turkey leg takes 2 hours at 350F to bake properly and this whole chicken covered in chilled butter and stuffed with cold veggies takes 1 hour at 360F? I’m ready to eat a lot of things that make my IBS act up, but you can’t make me eat raw chicken.

Hecate

There are many gods that many witches look up to. There are the Norse gods, Roman gods, Egyptian gods and countless others. Though there is one god who is one of the most famous among witches, Hecate.

Who is Hecate?

Hecate is from the Greek pantheon and her name means “worker from afar”. She is the goddess of witchcraft, the night, the moon, necromancy, and crossroads. She is the child of the titans Perses and Asteria and due to this, she ruled over heaven, the earth, and sea.

Usually, she was depicted holding two torches and wore a maiden’s skirt and hunting boots. Later, in the 1900s, she was seen as a triple goddess in Wicca. Greeks would hold festivals in her honor at night. It was also common practice to leave offerings at crossroads for her.

Mythology

In Greek mythology, it is said that Hecate was the only one to have heard Persephone, the daughter of Demeter, call for help when she Hades kidnapped her. She helped lead Persephone out with a torch and brought her back to Demeter.

Hecate also had two familiars. One was a black dog who was originally the Trojan Queen Hekabe. She fell into the sea once Troy had fallen and Hecate transformed her. The second one was a weasel who originally Galinthias who was Alkmene’s midwife. Eleithyia, a goddess, was enraged that Galinthias had tricked her and transformed Galinthias. Hecate felt bad and soon took the weasel in.

My Experience with Her

Though, I haven’t had many experiences with Hecate, they we’re what really pushed me to go on my journey through witchcraft. I remember very early on in my journey, when I considered myself a Wiccan, I tried this ritual where you just make your presence known to the God and Goddess. At the time, I was terribly scared to do anything with witchcraft, but since I was interested, I asked the God and Goddess if witchcraft was right for me.

I made a circle, lit some candles and started to meditate. I was very anxious and unsure if what I was doing was right, but I eventually calmed down and let my mind drift. Finally, in my astral projection, I get to this place that looked like space, but it had a greenish-blue tint to it. I looked around and soon saw two figures in the distance. I walked up to them and I knew in my heart it must’ve been the Greek god Pan and Hecate. At this point, they were the only two gods I knew in depth because of Wicca.

Pan looked a bit like the Ghost of Christmas Present from a Christmas Carol. Hecate wore a very dark blue cloak. I stared at them for a moment in wonder, not really sure what to say, until Hecate suddenly hugs me. I was so filled with joy that I started crying and I was so shocked by how caring she was. It takes quite a bit for me to cry so the fact that she moved me so much was astounding. After the astral projection, I knew that witchcraft was right for me.

Recently, I’ve been called to work with her more. Though, I am quite unsure on how I’d work with her, I’m glad she has pushed me through my journey.

If you decide to work with Hecate, I hope this helps! She’s truly a wonderful goddess to work with. Have a blessed day, witches!
