I was a much happier person when I kept my friends at a distance and didn’t seek out romantic relationships. Trying to develop deep emotional relationships with people will always end in disappointment if your expecting the same in return.

Life is way to short to waste your time and attention on the negative things. Life has so much more to offer; so much beauty and comradery and love to offer. The moment I realized that, the moment I allowed myself to be completely vulnerable, the moment I started making a conscious effort to actually become the person I always aspired to be, that was the moment everything changed. And the best part is that it can never be taken from me.
