if you get info online (or even from a book) always make sure to cross reference it

if you for whatever reason have to do your witchcraft in secret, that’s ok! Put your altar in a shoebox, use crystals, use color magic, cleanse and charm jewelery, do whatever you need to do to keep yourself safe

always study and write down what you learn. It’ll make things much easier

when casting a spell or something similar, write down your ingredients, your instructions/steps, and MAKE SURE you include whether or not it worked, and to what degree it worked

And if a closed practice is closed to you, don’t do its magic. It’s a closed practice. Some ingredients or spells and such aren’t gonna be for you

that’s really all I have to say. I myself am a beginner so I’ve still got lots to learn
