Just hangin’ out

I legitimately no joke just burst into tears listening to this mashup of WE ARE japanese and english versions…. Like full on gasping for breath hyperventilating sobbing,,d,dmksms,s,,,,, one epeice,,,,., ONE EPIEIEOCPEKWJJSNAIANIAJIAJISHUSHUSNIANIA!!1!1!1?1!1

I remember my sister and I making fun of the theme song the first time we heard it. But let me tell you, we kept watching the show and started singing along to it. Like how could you not?!

So uh.. for anyone considering joining the Fandom post Matpat

Please read Clowns (the creator) rules and limitations considering Welcome home. He has been extremely stressed out lately from the popularity his creation has gained and well… we were already worried about the possibility of another huge influx of people coming from Matpat.

We all know there’s going to be people who don’t care, and that’s extremely unfortunate but please for Clowns sake just be Chill and respectful.

He’s here on Tumblr it shouldn’t be hard to find information, I won’t @ them because I’m sure they’re already stressed out and I don’t necessarily want to add to that even if I do mean well.

I don’t want to fight with anyone and really a lot of us don’t, so let’s just keep kindness in mind whenever we speak? Okay?

Like I can’t stress this last part enough, here’s a direct quote from Clown because I couldn’t put it in better words honestly

“Please remember not to reprimand others on my behalf, I know the intentions but its not worth your anger and time. I think focus on being kind to others instead, having fun with you and yours! (I will figure it out, do not worry!)”

Ok. Welcome Home fandom, we need to talk.

I know I don’t have a lot of reach here, but I know a good bit of my recent following is in this fandom with me.

For those of you who haven’t seen it, Clown’s recent post is essentially them confessing that everything has been too much. I understand that we all love these characters, and are so excited to see this story unfold, but the sheer amount of people blatantly disregarding the boundaries they’ve very bluntly set up for us, is sickening. I want to see what happens as much as everyone else does, but pressuring them and just being an asshole isn’t going to make him write any faster. Remember that Clown is only one person, and projects of this size take careful time and dedication, and we have to respect that.

Just because they don’t know who we are in real life, doesn’t mean what we do won’t affect them. I know a lot of us find comfort in the adventures of these silly puppets (including myself), but we have to back off and stick to what they want.

I will continue drawing WH because it’s a major source of comfort for me, and I hope it is for y’all too, but people have got to be conscious of how what they’re creating and showing will affect the creator.

TL;DR - don’t be a dick and respect Clown’s boundaries for the fandom so we can all continue to have fun in a safe community.

If there was a way to run SUPER MEGA AD BLOCKER on this website I fucking would

“Please oh please open up your computer to a porn virus! If you don’t you’re evil!”

Freeloader Comin’ through!

We didn’t start this war internet users have with ads - We might have moaned about banner ads, but it was only when they started making noises when we might be listening to music or a podcast or whatever, causing two sound sorces at once, that we started trying to block ads universally rather than just a specific type of ad (pop ups).

And since then ads have gotten worse - Actual malware rather than merely breaking one of the fundamental sins of web design - though shalt not autoplay anything with sound. And the more aggressive a website is with ‘please turn off adblock’ the less I trust it to bother to vet ads and advertisers to make sure they’re not installing malware.

Not to mention that the idea that avoiding ads is “freeloading” is hilariously backward. Advertisement is a transaction between the platform and the advertiser, the user has no obligation to provide the views/clicks the platform has promised. Using an adblocker isn’t freeloading in the same way that leaving the room to get a snack during a commercial break isn’t cheating the tv network.

Ok y’all, I work as a web developer and I’m here to tell you that you are 100% right and that it’s shit. SO I’m going to tell you how to get around websites that block you from using their website if you’re using an adblocker.

Every website uses a language called JavaScript; long story short it’s a website language that allows developers to do the crazy shit you see on websites. Now the easiest thing to do is to disable JavaScript to stop them from knowing you have an adblocker:

Oh no! I’m blocked from viewing the website. It would be a terrible shame if I were able to right click and select the “inspect” feature

Click the three dots in the top right and open the “Settings” Menu

And then scrolled down to “Debugger” and checked the “Disable Javascript Option”

And then just refreshed the page
