Reblog if you’re over 20 and still read/write fan fiction.
I’m curious!

I’m curious!
I love Lilo And Stitch bc even though it makes me sad David just goes and blames what he thinks is a normal dog for making things worse for Nani and Lilo and it’s constantly funny to me
Just so we know just exactly David was dealing with.
It honestly never occurred to me that Stitch could have been mistaken for a French Bulldog by everyone
I really have been just accepting that Lilo’s cover story “Stitch used to be a collie ‘til he got run over” as the story everyone accepted.
yeah in David’s defense, “Nani’s chaotic little sister brought a dog home and then immediately dyed the poor thing bright blue” is not an unreasonable assumption
Is it just me or are the new tumblr users convinced there's a penalty of some kind for using this site like it's meant to be used?
reblogs have always been in short supply for artists, sadly, but it's hitting the shitposts and even the cat pictures lately. Gotta keep getting the word out that reblogs are good and keep people posting new material that will be passed around for the next 12 years
They’re used to other social media sites, where the only equivalent of reblogging is straight-up content theft; so the idea that you can put someone else’s stuff on your page and have it not be a bad thing is a strange experience for them.
They’re likely also used to an algorithm recommending content based on what they hit “like” on, so they probably think that that’s how this works, too.
truly, i GET that a lot of people, especially younger people who grew up on youtube and are living on tiktok, see "opening the page and viewing with their eyeballs" engagement in itself. but a) it's not, for fanfiction, that's not how it works; and b) "engagement" does not build a community -- interaction builds a community.
if you like someone's fanfiction, and you want more of that fanfiction, please react to it in some tangible way. leave a kudo. leave a comment. let the writer know that you didn't open it, see the first sentence, and decide it was garbage. let the writer know that you aren't a bot that trawls every webpage for AI content. let the writer know that their work is appreciated.
the point of fandom is to be a community, not a content engine. if people stop feeling like people are being reached with their work, they stop creating work for that fandom and move onto the next. there's a lot to be said for the way binge-model TV is killing fandoms prematurely... but there's a LOT to be said for the way infinite-scrolling consumption is killing fandoms prematurely.
if everyone binges a show on friday and feels weird about reacting to fics posted longer than a week ago/doesn't react to the fics they read at all, that fandom is dying out in about a month, max. even though there are probably a lot of people who would love to discuss it with someone or create more work or finish and post a WIP or whatever. because no actual community is created by consumption alone.
reading a fic is only step one.
reacting to a fic is the crucial step two of the equation.
step three is the fandom proliferating! and you getting more stuff to enjoy!
(Cis/trans)women aren’t the only ones that can get breast cancer, either.

A reminder to check of this.
Should be done every week or so and if you do notice these abnormalities then book an appointment if available, breast cancer like all other cancers are at a higher risk if left unnoticed.
But if you notice it sooner then it could be groundbreaking and save a life.
Ron and Hermione are far more similar than people give them credit for.
Their core values are same. Both are brave, courageous, noble, kind hearted, selfless, jealous, possessive, passionate, argumentative, smart in their own way and Ofcourse both value the same thing. Friendship and bravery. Even their interaction with the veil in the DOM was similar. While the other 4 had a different experience.
They balance each other perfectly. Hermione learns to have fun. Ron helps her to loosen up. She learns to see the other side of life. She helps Ron to be organised and teaches him to pay attention. She helps him to be less crass and immature.
They genuinely love spending time together. Whenver Harry is off having special classes with Snape and Dumbledore or is busy with Quidditch, Ron and Hermione are together. She reaches to the burrow every year before Harry to spend more time with Ron. She rejects even Krum's invitation to Bulgaria to spend holidays with Ron.
Ron isn't intimidated by her high intellect and is able to doubt things she says without blindly agreeing with her. Ron can call her out when she is out of the line. He actually listens to her and isn't afraid to voice his opinion. When he doesn't agree with her he openly tells her that. And Hermione needs someone like him to keep her grounded.
Ron is a laidback guy. He is a family man. Hermione needs someone who can support her ambition without getting threatened by it. Who will take care of kids. Who will support her career. Ron is the perfect guy for that.
Hermione is a muggleborn. Ron is a pureblood. They come from different backgrounds. They can learn so much from each other. He can learn more about the muggle world. She can learn more about the wizarding world. They will teach each other new things everyday. Their relationship would never be boring.
They both went through very similar life experiences. That would help them to bond over. No one can understand them better than each other.
They were friends for years. And friendship is a solid basis of a loving, supportive relationship. They spent so much time together without harry. That would help them in a long run...
this is a relationship that is equally balanced. They both bring somthing to the table to balance each other out. Not one partner putting most effort and the other one enjoying.
i really need more television to exist in the same refrain as derry girls where it's not trying to tell some profound and heavily plotted out overarching story... rather its happy to just live in the brief moments of these character's lives and the comedy and tragedy that is part of their every day existence. i love 'we're not going anywhere in particular but you're damn sure going to enjoy the journey' type storytelling.
also! The suicide hotline is 988
this notion that if you're an adult still on tumblr it's bc something is wrong doesn't sit right with me... unfortunately I can't refute it bc there is something wrong with me
if you think that you are entitled to know a celebrity’s sexuality, block me. if you think you are entitled to know anyone’s sexuality, block me. if you constantly throw around the word queerbait when you don’t even know what that word is, block me. if you think real people with real lives and real feelings are capable of queerbaiting, block me. if you think that you are owed something just because you are a fan of a certain piece of media or actor in the spotlight, block me. and also fuck you
i wish everyone who made kit connor feel he had to come out a very merry FUCK YOU. you forced an eighteen year old into coming out publicly, before he was ready, when he stated many many times he wanted to keep it private. how many more times does this shit have to fucking happen before some of you fucking clock that YOU CANNOT QUEERBAIT IN REAL LIFE. this is the natural end to the discourse of ‘if somebody is in the public eye playing a queer person they owe us their sexuality’, and it’s DEEPLY FUCKED UP, they do NOT owe you an answer, and this mindset JUST FORCED AN EIGHTEEN YEAR OLD TO OUT HIMSELF BEFORE HE WAS READY TO
Okay fuck it if this post reaches 666k notes by the end of 2023 I'll practise basic self care
Why 666k? Because it's funny and impossible so good fucking luck
Well, OP, I’m officially invested in this shit. Your whiny ass is doing self care if I have to drive to your goddamn house and do it for you.
By Talos this can't be happening
reblog this everyone i wanna see what happens when op’s reverse-hubris forces them to practice basic self care.
why? because it’s funny and completely possible actually so good fucking luck op
Where is the Imperfects fandom? I will create it with my bare hands if I have to.
My Imperfects agenda is proceeding beautifully, I now have three people close to me watching it. At last I am not alone, our numbers grow by the day.
Reblog and put in the tags if your siblings know your passwords
I was thinking about posting this after I wrote it, but then i was actually THREATENED (not really but yeah really) by @bjornthorsson20 no less... Humph. You get your wish (demand?) sir.
I give you, this lil ficlet born of random conversations that have nothing to do with Romione and yet still somehow come back to Romione:
"Ron? Are you ready to go?" Hermione bustled around their sitting room, anxious to get to Kings Cross Station for their kids.
Ron was anxious too, but also slow.
"I'm ready," he said as he finally sauntered into the sitting room. "We have plenty of time love. Train probably hasn't even cleared Nottingham yet."
"I want to be there when it pulls in!" As she grabbed her purse, her muggle cell phone rang from somewhere inside. Ron was still getting used to the thing, and jumped when it rang.
Hermione glanced at her watch and rolled her eyes. "It's Ginny. We'll see her in 2 minutes."
Perplexed, Ron asked, "did she tell you she would call at a certain time?"
Hermione glanced at Ron through the mirror in the foyer where she was adjusting her hair. "No, why?"
"So how'd you know she was calling if you didn't look at your phone?"
"I looked at my watch."
"But... Watches tell time. Not who's calling."
Hermione laughed. "Oh! I never showed you, did I? Mum got a new apple watch so she gave me her old one! It syncs up to your phone and you can see who's calling or texting!" While she was explaining she held up her wrist to show Ron the strange looking watch adorning it. It had no numbers or hands, just a plain black face. But when she tapped it, the screen lit up and showed the time in analog form.
Hermione turned to the floo and grabbed the powder. But when she turned to Ron he was simply staring at her.
"What?"
"That's barmy!!!"
"What's barmy Ron?"
"You're telling me, that watch can tell you who's calling on your phone? Next you're going to tell me you can answer on it too!"
"Actually," she said slowly, "I can. Now can we go before Ginny calls again? At least then I'll be able to show you."
"What sorcery is this?!" He muttered as he reached one hand for the floo powder and the other for Hermione. "Muggles have their own sort of magic... King's Cross!"
Hey that was the threat I made yesterday! Nice! Nice to see I still got my intimidation game on point 😎 (though it didn't really agree to my terms but hey I'll take it). And honestly Ron even I was mystified so you're not alone lol Muggles are indeed barmy
