The Godskeeper

@thegodskeeper / thegodskeeper.tumblr.com

A full-scale replica of L. E. Lífþrasir, and the one who gave Odin poptarts. Thirty. He/Him. Arab Norse-Gael. Genderqueer. Scorpio main course with a side-order of Aquarius. I work with Odin, Thor and Loki but other deities out their feet up on the table sometimes, too. Icon by chereverie.

Prayer bracelet for Odin + prayer

I made some prayer bead bracelets so that i can give regular prayers as offerings to the gods (here's a tutorial on how to make them).

I wanted to do separate ones for the gods i work with, so i made one for Odin and one for Freyr (but i'm still working on Freyr's prayer). For Odin, i looked for pearls that kind of look like eyes (and for Freyr i found some that look like flowers).

Prayer for Odin:

I wanted to keep the prayer short so i could easily remember it, so i wrote 9 short verses, one verse for each bead of the bracelet:

"Odin,

Allfather,

  1. I honour you, Wanderer, and your company on all my journeys,
  2. I honour you, Knowing-One, and your wisdom,
  3. I honour you, Hanged God, and your self-sacrifices,
  4. I honour you, One-Eyed, and your gifts to humankind,
  5. I honour you, Sorcerer, and your powers,
  6. I honour you, Raven God, and your winged companions,
  7. I honour you, Commander, and your battles,
  8. I honour you, Wise One, and your words,
  9. I honour you, Lord of Valhalla, and i thank you."

If you haven’t given an offering to your deities/spirits/ancestors/etc in a while because you feel icky mentally or physically, here are some quick and easy options:

- water (drinkable, preferably)

- make a playlist of at least 3 songs (you can add more later if you’d like)

- talk to them, just say hi, tell them what’s going on in your life

- if you’re physically able, dance or exercise a bit!!

- read or re-read stories about them if they’re a deity

- recall fond memories you’ve had together, tell them why these memories are fond

- Buy or pick a flower/plant, put it on your offering space

- buy a lil pastry and offer it to them

STORMS IN WITCHCRAFT

RAIN STORM: GROWTH AND REBIRTH. SHEDDING OLD SKIN

LIGHTENING STORM: POTENT MAGICAL POWER HEXES AND CURSES

SNOW STORM: PURITY, ENDINGS, CHANGE, HOME AND HEARTH WORK

TORNADO: ERRATIC BUT POWERFUL ENERGY FOR ANY RITUAL, CAN BE UNPREDICTABLE

WIND STORM: POTENT ENERGY FOR A FAST-ACTING SPELL, MENTAL MAGIC

Girl Odin. Odin is genderfluid, and there's at least one image of Odin that shows traditionally feminine clothes.

Drag Thor, because of that one story where Thor crossdresses to steal back his hammer, and looks amazing in a Bridal Gown.

Tomboy Pansexual Freya. She's a goddess of War, and has reportedly slept with every god in Asgard (no distinction of gender made)

Femboy Freyr. Freyr's priests were Ergi, which is to say queer, gender non-conforming. And Freyr is one of the few non-war gods, but is a god of love and sex.

"Bear" Furry Fenrir. He's a wolf, so definitely furry and hairy. I also ship him with Tyr, with whom he had a close friendship, and trusted completely, until he betrayed him under pressure from the other gods.

Enby Loki. The biggest genderqueer icon of Norse Mythology.

Transmasc Njord. While he is clearly and inequivocally a man, he often plays a more "feminine" role. And before he became Njord, Nerthus (sorry for deadnaming there) was goddess of the seas and fishing.

Transfem Skadi. She is clearly a woman, but is expected to play traditionally masculine roles in the stories (like hunting, avenging her father, choosing a mate).

The full lineup

I drew some queer readings of Norse Gods. Norse Mythology is very queer.

The rain brings in the sea smell where we live and it inspired me to do a quick “hey youre cool” to Ægir, Rán, and Njord 💜 (my mother in law gave us smart bulbs that change color so that’s how I got the teal look)

Ok this is a super self indulgent piece, I know lol (Self insert with Loki) but hopeful ya’ll still like it! I sure do. I might get it printed and hang it in my studio tbh.  also I think I’ve decided to forgo the jacket, but what is your opinion? Do you feel like it’s missing something without it?

MERCUREON (Flying)

MERCUREON is a Flying type eevolution, based on Hermes, the herald of the greek gods. and protector of human heralds, travellers, thieves, merchants and orators.

Hermes is often represented wearing a winged helmet, winged sandals and carrying his Caduceus, a winged staff with two coiled serpents,so all of this elements are present on MERCUREON

The name MERCUREON comes from "Mercury", the name Romans used to call Hermes.
