countdown to andor day 4: light

No matter how hard the missions became, the stars were always there. Lighting his way back to his commanders, his lovers, whatever hole or abandoned ship he’d make his home in for a few weeks until moving towards the next. There were days he didn’t want to look up. But the stars enticed him. They sang to him. They lit the way when he didn’t know where to turn.

He learned long ago that people were come and go. But the stars stayed. Taking different shapes maybe, and different lore depending on the planet, but still the same beacons of bright.

Cassian didn’t have a home. He didn’t dream of a life mostly spent in space either. There was comfort in having his feet on real ground, but stars meant there was another way. Get a ship and you could be there. Somewhere else.

There was even more comfort in having an escape plan. One lit by starlight and stardust.
