and also im still not. over how there, was three whole weeks of a smoke alarm beeping every minute and they did nothing abt it. how do u Live like that
ok so. to recap: my nextdoor neighbors had their smoke alarm going off for every minute of every day for Three Whole Entire Fucking Weeks and it only stopped because my dad called maintenance and told them to fix the alarm FOR them... like... u kno how loud smoke alarms are? theyre. Meant, to get ur attention. theyre designed to be annoying so you want to shut them off. i could hear it thru the wall every day adn it drove me up the wall i cant imagine Being in the Same Room as it and jsut doing, nothing. about it. jesus christ.
BUT on the bright side of things. i dont have 2 deal with that beeping happening for the next month nd a half that im staying in this apartment anymore.

its also weird bc again ive experienced a lot of mgs secondhand through like. the old hiimdaisy fancomic dubs and u kno general Gamer Jokes about how cutscene heavy and incomprehensible the plot gets so it all felt familiar even for watching it for the first time but i still wasnt ready for “I smuggled cigarettes in my stomach cause my stomach acid doesnt work” which is like the tenth thing snake says in the game i think
whats up gamers i watched the entirety of MGS1 last night and heres Some thoughts:
- just abt every other scene was a condemnation of war or nuclear weapons, and right after snake snowmobiles off into the horizon, it fades to a black screen with text just talking about real-world history relating to the restriction of nuclear weaponry, and experiencing the game firsthand REALLY makes me fucking baffled that there’s some MGS fanboys don’t think the series is political in any way and are basically like that “WOW!!! cool robot” image
- i thought it was neat how varied the boss fights were cause i think it sucks how some games will settle for “bosses are just regular enemy fights but Longer” so it was neat to see each one take advantage of its different location and the fighting styles of its enemies
- ive heard that kojima doesnt treat his female characters well, and UH, yeah. what was up with explicitly establishing that meryl isnt interested in men and then turning her into a love interest for snake anyway. we all know theyre both gay, kojima.
- on the other hand of snake’s love interests, otacon’s “do you think love can bloom even on the battlefield” scene was even gayer in context than i thought it was gonna be
