Are you born racist if you’re white?

Originally my answer to this question was no however while trying to understand the people who claim that white people being born white automatically makes them racist I kind of have an understanding of why this may be the case.

If you’re white you are mostly likely racist here’s why

The thing about racism is that racism is not as simple as simply saying “I hate black people”. Racism is a mindset. Because racism is a whole entire mindset most racist white people are not even aware of the fact that they are racist. To understand why being born white in America most likely makes you a racist you must understand how the mind works.

Describe the person who you would think of if they were highly intellectual

You would probably think of someone like Albert Einstein or Steve Jobs. The both of them are white males. If you thought of someone who’s White then that’s completely fine be honest with yourself

Now describe the person who you would think of if they were Criminal

If you thought of a black person or a person of color then that’s completely fine because this is exactly what we call subconscious racism. To be subconsciously racist isn’t entirely your fault but rather than media that you grew up around. Believe it or not you don’t have to be blatantly racist like a southern redneck conservative just to be racist.

There’s two types of places in our minds.

These two places is what we call your conscious and your subconscious.

Your conscious

This part of your mind is where you are fully aware of the things that you are doing. If I were to say “i hate black people” I am consciously racist because I know exactly what I’m doing and I know for a fact that I’m racist. Your conscious mind set is simply your surface level mindset. All this really does is make us aware of the things that we see and do.

Your subconscious

This part of the mindset is something that we are not aware of. Our subconscious mindset determines everything we do and everything we truly think. We are not aware of how our subconscious really thinks because humans naturally think on a conscious level. Your subconscious determines everything you do.

Examples:

If I were to say that I love black people but yet I get extremely nervous and panicky every time a black person walks next to me, then I am subconsciously racist. This is an example of subconscious racism because I am not aware of the fact that I am racist however my racial biased against black people still remains in my subconscious because I have a pattern of getting nervous around black people.

Another example:

If an alcoholic were to say that they hate alcohol yet they constantly drink it, they consciously hate alcohol however they subconsciously love alcohol because they keep drinking it.

Your subconscious is mainly responsible for all the addictions that you have because your subconscious determines your everyday choices.

Why does subconscious racism happens?

The simple answer to that question is the media. Our books, our TV, our magazines, our Billboards, and any form of media you can think of has promoted black people as thugs, criminals, gang members, ghetto, ugly, and etcetera. Most of us have grown up around This Racist media leading us to have subconscious racism even against our own kind.

Subconscious racism is not easy to get rid of because because changing your subconscious is extremely hard. As a black person who had trouble loving their Blackness as a child I am still subconsciously colorist because I grew up around media that promotes dark skin black women as ugly and light skin black women has pretty.

Can you get rid of subconscious racism?

Yes! However, it’s not easy. Not even in the slightest. Your subconscious is built off of years and years and years of being told certain things. It’s almost nearly impossible to get rid of your subconscious racism completely when you’re surrounded in a country that only promote whiteness as Superior.

…So are all white people racist??

Yes and no

Consciously? Not all white people

Subconsciously? Yes.

Genetically being Caucasian doesn’t make you racist, however being told that Caucasians are more Superior than any other race your whole entire life does make you racist. If you’re subconsciously racist then it’s not your fault completely, almost everybody who grew up in America are most likely subconsciously racist however it is your job to get rid of that subconscious mind set.

henlo just a ~reminder~ that western countries such as the US and UK benefit off of the instability in the middle east and are KNOWN for going into middle eastern countries not to ~spread democracy~ but to cause turmoil. 

don’t forget that the US had a hand in creating the Mujahideen in order to spy on Russia during the cold war, later turning into al qaeda. dont forget that the US government replaced the democratically elected prime minister of iran (the 1953 coup), placing the shah in power, which then spurred the “islamic revolution” of the 1970s, leading to the government that is now in place. all because the prime minister wanted to nationalize iranian oil. dont forget that the iraq war wasnt about ~spreading democracy~ or ~weapons of mass destruction~ or even sadam hussein but because iraq wanted to nationalize their oil. 

the instability in the middle east was created by the United States and other Western countries, and now they’re furthering that instability.

so the us, uk, and french missiles are NOT surprising. trump sending missiles into syria is what EVERY western country has done to the middle east since the 90s and early 2000s. its NOT surprising to see so many praise trump for ~his actions against assad~ when domestic militarization (aka using the excuse of “theyre killing women and children so we MUST fight back !1!”) is a trend in american politics.

It’s not just owning the gun, it’s the NRA propaganda that ‘they’re coming for your guns’ that influences the paranoia and irrational fears of gun owners.

For eight years, they said Obama was coming for their guns, and the fact that Obama was not coming for their guns was proof Obama was coming for their guns. You can’t get more delusional.

They tried to bring back the assault weapons ban. People organized and voted in people to congress who were against it and thus prevented it.

It’s not that Obama wasn’t willing to ban guns, it’s that the “propaganda” was effective at stopping it by mobilizing people.
