I do wholeheartedly believe Wes Anderson is a sick sick freak. I like his movies but I definitely think this guy has like a hidden room in his spacious french apartment that he slips into quietly each night and it is just filled with tiny little doll replicas of all the actors he’s ever used in any of his movies and he puppets them around and mimicks their voices and shit. and sometimes he’ll text Owen Wilson pictures of his little doll with a comb or something from an untraceable number and pair it with like “see how I take care of you Owen?” and then the following day Owen Wilson will find him at the service table and go, “Geez Wes look at this,” and Wes will pretend to be all concerned and horrified but there is this calculating almost eager look in his eyes that unsettles Owen Wilson. and the next time Wes is having a little soiree with all his actors, his beloved beloved actors, maybe Owen Wilson will accidentally get lost on his way to the beautiful bathroom and find that little room and see all those dolls and his throat will hitch with horror. And before he can call Bill Murray or Adrian Brody to look a dark silhouette will appear in the doorway and Wes looks sort of resigned when he says, “I see you finally found my secret, Owen,” and Owen Wilson will try and pretend that he’s fine with it but they both know better. and Wes will go (the look in his eyes back again) “We both know this can’t get out, right?” and he’ll grin very suddenly and Owen Wilson will laugh along very nervously and leave the room and eat some brioche and when the evening is over he will rush over to his Prius and frantically click his keys but over the cobbles on the beautiful beautiful street there is the sound of footsteps. and tears are running down Owen Wilson’s cheeks but he can’t say a word and Wes, emerging from the shadows, will gently touch him on the shoulder and say, “look, I’ll drive you to the airport, huh?” and Owen Wilson will try to refuse but they both know it’s futile. and, halfway through the drive, Wes Anderson will smile and say, “I’ll miss working with you” and then perfectly jump and roll out of the car, wiping off his corduroy pants, while Owen Wilson’s Prius swerves into a local patisserie, bursting into flames

Statues also Die is a good film for those interested in art and museums. Commissioned and partially paid by Présence Africaine it was released in 1953. The film shows how the treatement of African art (called Art Nègre at the time and considered simpler) and Colonialism erased African cultures and denied African and Black people the dignity of their past. It was forbidden as in the ‘50 French still had colonies in Africa, it was allowed on 1963.

Newly Released Police Body Cam Footage Shows Moments Before Rayshard Brooks Was Murdered by Police

For those who don’t know, Rayshard Brooks, 27 yr old father of, was shot and killed by an Atlanta police officer at a Wendy’s parking lot in Atlanta Friday night.

In the video, Mr. Brooks is seen calmly and politely speaking with Officers after falling asleep at a Wendys parking lot because he said he was “Too intoxicated to drive.” The officers could have done the right thing and stayed with him until someone picked him up, allowed him to walk to his home (which he offered to do) or even offered him a ride home, but instead they decided to escalate the situation and kill him.

Jesus Christ was a brown Jew in the Middle East, conceived out of wedlock in an arguably interracial if not interspecies (deity and human) relationship, raised by his mother and stepfather in place of his absent father.  He may not have had a Y chromosome.  He spent his early youth as a refugee in Egypt, where his family no doubt survived initially on handouts from the wealthy (You think they kept that gold, frankincense, and myrrh from the wise men?  Hell no, they sold that stuff for food and lodging).  He later returned with his parents to their occupied homeland and lived in poverty.

The religion of Jesus’s people has no concept of a permanent hell and instructed its priests on how to induce miscarriages.  Jesus explicitly rejected the concept of disability as a divine punishment.  He spoke out against religious hypocrites.  He had enough respect for women to let his mother choose the time of his first miracle.  He blessed a same sex couple.  He told a rich man that he must give up his wealth to get to heaven, and also told a parable about a rich man suffering in agony in presumably Gehinnom (basically Purgatory) just to hammer the point home.  He told people to pay their taxes.  He declared “love your neighbor” to be one of the two commandments on which all laws hang.  He commanded his followers to help the poor.  He commanded them to help the sick and the needy.  He spent time with social outcasts.  He healed the servant of a high priest during his arrest rather than fighting back.  He was put to death by the occupying government because he was a political radical.

Trump and his administration are xenophobic, misogynistic, racist, fear-mongering, warmongering, tax-dodging, anti-Semitic, anti-choice, anti-welfare, anti-equal pay, anti-LGBTQIA+, anti-immigration, support tax cuts for the rich, support Citizen’s United, want to keep refugees out of this country, want to limit our ability to speak against the government, plan to abolish the Affordable Care Act, and they wrap all of that up behind a banner of “Christian family values.”  If you support them, you have no right to call yourself a follower of Christ.

This is Eugene Ejike Obiora, he was strangled to death by a Norwegian police officer in 2006. The officer who killed him was acquitted, and has since been promoted to operation leader. 

In the police logs Obiora is always referred to by the n-word. 

Two of the policemen who were involved in the arrest had previously been reported for violence on 14 different occasions. The police officer who killed Obiora had been reported three times. 

The same officer was also involved in the arrest of Sophia Baidoo, a Ghanaian woman who worked as cleaner at a bank. She was arrested at her own workplace after a colleague had activated the safety alarm on her, refusing to believe that she was supposed to be cleaning there that night. She could prove that she worked there, and knew the codes to the security system, yet the police would not believe her. During the arrest, Baidoo was subjected to racist verbal abuse, and put in the same kind of chokehold that killed Obiora.

While lethal force is thankfully rare within the Norwegian police force, racism is still a massive problem. A recent study showed that among a group of 120 Norwegian teenagers, almost all of the young minority boys had at some point been subjected to racial profiling. These “random” stops are often deliberately made to be humiliating, with the police asking minorities how they are able to afford [expensive thing], or detaining them in public spaces (there was a recent episode from a McDonald’s where police lined up two minority boys—who were not accused of anything—and took pictures of them in front of the costumers). 

If you think a bachelors degree is gonna solve systematic racism within the police system you need a reality check.
