I'm not sure how I feel about the reveal that Prismo created Fionna and Cake from the beginning.
On the one hand, it's a brilliant explanation for how they exist and why they need to stick to Simon like glue. When he dies, their world dies with him, making it Fionna and Cake's job to make sure the boring butt never dies and maybe bringing magic back to his life again. That's a great narrative decision.
On the other hand, it's funnier to think that it was all just a crazy fanfic Ice King came up with about the people.
Although, it might actually be funnier that the world existed and his twisted mind made it out as weird fan fiction.
I don't know, this whole thing is pretty much what you get when a show like Adventure Time refuses to end. It reminds me a lot about comic books, where amazing ideas and stories are sometimes created YEARS later and sometimes requires retcons to make it work better. Now, not everyone is going to be a fan of these retcons, but this one in particular? I'm pretty into. Like I said, it's brilliant and leads to more cool stuff, so why bother complaining?
so they have to make Simon happy again

I am gonna be more active on this blog is just I had the worst year so far due to all the personal stuff that happened to me
I will be doing this thing called every choices book ever where I read every choices book released in order by release date and every time I am finished a book I will post my review on it
Rules
I will not be doing this in all in one go I will be taking breaks in between of doing this just so I will not face burn out
For very heavy story and plot driven books like endless summer I will be replaying them once I get to their sequels so I will not forget anything about the plot
Anyway thats all
Hey, you all, I am going to have some exciting things for this blog, but for now, I would like to give a review on costume quest, a show I watched over break and developed a hyper fixation on it ( to clarify, this will be a review on the show not the game nor comic book)
To start, this show has only 14 episodes, and it is on amazon prime, so it is an easy watch; go and watch it if you have not, and also, beware, spoilers are present in this review. So to start, the costume quest is about these four kids: Everett, Lucy, Reynold, and Wren. While it has a basic group dynamic that I am pretty sure you guys have seen multiple times before with wren being the loud mouth bossy leader. Reynold is the shy one, lucy is the smart one, and Everett is the fun one. They have magic costumes from this man's norm and must use them to defeat monsters who are planning to invade at Halloween. First, this show design has a dark pallet that brings out autumn vibes, and the soundtrack makes you feel so hyped.
Here is an example of the color pallet I was talking about
In terms of the story, it executes a good hook for you to keep watching, like why do monsters want candy so bad, and what is the deal with Oona, the mysterious old lady, or norm the guys who make their magic costumes to help beat up the monsters.
The show also has relatable problems that you may have dealt with:
The main criticism I give the show is the arc payoff. I needed wren and Reynold's arc at the end of the series to be shown more, and Lucy's arc with her mom. Also, I wanted to show more moments of Everett and lucy interacting, but I will let that slide considering the show only has 14 episodes.
So all and all I give this show.
9/10

I GOT A FUCKING RAISE THE POTATO WORKED WTF
This potato works. Every. Fucking. Time.
I'll bite. Work that magic potato.
you cannot separate transphobia from racism.
you cannot.
they will always come together like buttcheeks shitting on whoever falls under their purview.
transphobia gets levied against black women, cis black women, especially because they don't always conform to the standards of femininity set by transphobes.
terfs will you accuse us of 'bringing race into it' when we fucking aren't, we're talking about the giant elephant that has ALWAYS been in the fucking room.
the 'tells' terfs have for trans women invariably always include traits that cis women of colour have too. square jaw, dark body hair, large nose, broad shoulders.
all of these are traits shared by cis women i know.
you will inevitably invoke misogyny, especially misogynoir, against women of colour when you invoke transphobia.
because every form of oppression is fucking linked. you cannot turn to one to escape the other. transphobia hurts women and it hurts women of colour ever more.
how the fuck can you claim to be a feminist if you can't see that fact?
