ok so y’all know the “fall out boy is for lovers- chicago softcore” shirts right?

well softcore is- like in porn- something gentler than hardcore. something sweeter, more innocent.

now, pete left chicago’s hardcore scene because a lot of people were misogynist + homophobic + racist + all that nasty stuff. every member of fob was in the hardcore scene before fob but was very much pushed out when they got together, right?

so, “fall out boy is for lovers- chicago softcore” is basically them saying that you can feel welcome in their fandom. feel loved at their shows. feel accepted by the members. fob isnt for haters, fob isnt for people who discriminate others, fob is for fucking lovers. it’s basically a giant “fuck you” to all the bigots who think that they’re better just because they’re hardcore.

i really think that everyone should remember that. esp ppl who criticize their new “poppy” sound- it was never meant to be hardcore. it was never meant to be edgy. it was meant to be a safe spot for the kids who didnt have anywhere to go- both those that were pushed away from the hardcore scene and those who didn’t belong in the mainstream scene either and it still is for thousands of young people.

not fitting in was the reason they started out, and people are still calling them out for not being emo enough for emo, not punk enough for pop punk and not pop enough for pop!

please just appreciate fall out boy. even if you dont love the music, love their love.

Hugs <3

Hey everyone! Day to day we see a fair amount of messages from people who are either hurting emotionally or are wanting to help loved ones who are hurting. It can be saddening because no one should have to feel that way and often emotional pain is not treated with the seriousness that more visible, physical injuries are. I wanted to share a link that has helped me in the past. It is for a website that can help you find a local therapist based on what you are going through specifically. Many of these therapists offer lower rates (called a “sliding scale”) for those of you without insurance. Here is the link: https://therapists.psychologytoday.com/rms/

Not to sound too cheesy or like a PSA but it can be easy to forget that depression and anxiety *lie* to you and that there really are people who care. Sometimes a little reminder is in order, yaknow? In any case, wishing everyone a nice start of the week and sending pink, fuzzy hugs in your direction.

Lots of LOVE, Lola & G

Edit: Here is a link for therapists south of the border. Will try to update this with similar links outside the U.S. as I find them, please feel free to tweet me if you know of any helpful resources for your country.

i don’t think people understand how excruciating it is when i embarrass myself…. it’s not just “haha whoops lol that was awkward” it’s deadass wanting to kill myself in the most brutal way possible because i fucked up yet again…… it’s unbearable….

i get so grossed out when people make fun of other people’s appearances like u know when u overhear two guys talking about how “man she has no ass at all” or a couple of girls making fun of another girl for wearing a pair of shorts that “aren’t made for her body type” i legitimately feel sick to my stomach like why would u do that…
