Does anyone have a good miniature recommendation for fat knights or at least knights with a lot bulkier armor? I want to start building my Turnip28 warband and I just can't find a good miniature to start with as the base of the model. Most knight minis are either average size or body builder types and I want my warband to be a bunch of big Bastards (the unit type).
The closest I can find are Nurgle Blightkings but that would be too expensive and their armor is waaay too destroyed for what I want.
This fat guard miniature is also pretty close but its only the single miniature and I think I'm going to need at least 12 guys to convert.
Any recommendations would be very much appreciated!

like, I was looking at cheaper minis for Turnip28 and GW is an outlier when it comes to cost
like, I'm sure they have incredible quality, but holy fuck it's so much more expensive than the rest of the hobby
I found these boxes for pretty much an entire regiment OR TWO, and together they're worth ⅔ the cost of a single squad of Space Marines

Now, nothing grows. A bizarre and horrible root covers the land, strangling the life from the trees, poisoning the water, and filling the sky with an acrid mist. Humanity barely endures by harvesting this disgusting tuber. It twists their bodies and minds, infesting their thoughts with divine visions of lost vegetables...
I took a small break this week from my other projects and built some scatter terrain for Turnip28. I picked up some fake vegetables from the dollar store, carved out mouths with my hobby knife, and jammed aquarium rocks in there for some gnarly teeth.
After gluing them to some chip board, I took some assorted bits from my bits box to add details. Tentacles and exposed organs from Tyranid and Nurgle kits. I also made piles of leftover bones from toy dinosaur skeletons. I made a terrain mixture out of Sculptmold, Mod Podge, and gravel to cover the bases. I took a sand texture and applied it to all the vegetables along with some grass tufts. Once everything was dried, I did a quick paint up with my airbrush and then hit everything with an oil wash. Oil washes are incredibly fun, especially when you're making something really gross and grimy!
I'm incredibly happy with how they came out! I'm still working on my Turnip28 regiment and my Necromunda buddy is also making his own army so hopefully I'll get to use these for a game soon! More closeup pictures below the cut!

enough reclaiming slurs, I think in 2023 we should reclaim nascar. they banned the confederate flag on all properties & their stance on lgbtq+ isn’t just performative bc in 2013 they fined a driver 10k for using a homophobic slur, condemned indiana in a statement for an anti lgbt law, and partnered w carolina’s lgbt+ chamber of conference in 2022. nascar was founded by anti-cop moonshiners/bootleggers who drove suped-up fords to out-run the police. #yaaascar

To this day, my favorite argument I ever had was with my Nascar-loving family about how a thin blue line flag on a Nascar is antithetical to the core tenets of Nascar. There is no organization more rooted in ACAB than Nascar. Literally, the only reason it exists was that a bunch of moonshining families had to build cars that could outrun the cops while on supply runs during the Prohibition Era. The goal was to make the car look like a regular vehicle so they could pick up supplies or drop off illegal alcohol without arousing suspicion. But if the cops were on you all you had to do was put the pedal to the metal and that little truck could outrun them with no problems. And of course, families would be in competition over who made the best alcohol, and whose car was fastest. So, they would have races on the weekends. When prohibition was lifted, the races continued. And that is why we have Nascar. It really frustrates me how people look at American car culture and scoff at it. Formula One racing is more exciting and more dynamic to watch, but the history of it is not as interesting: a bunch of rich assholes who made specialized cars for racing. And to this day, it is still a rich man's sport. Whereas Nascar was about a bunch of so-called hicks in the backwoods who used some basic hand tools and trial and error to make a junker into a racecar.
