"you're an extraterrestrial, son. you haven't got any rights to read." + the violence of his arrest and how they torture and mistreat him unapologetically, all under the guise of "protecting america", in a film releasing during the onslaught of violent ICE kidnappings and abuse... yeah it's really no wonder right-wing knobheads are crying about this being woke. they're being forced to look directly at the reasons one of the most notorious heroes of all time would not be on their side. and that's only ONE of the reasons this movie covers

Does anyone else see different US regions as “coded” as specific seasons?

Okay so this is gonna be a series of polls and I am going to have specific definitions for each region because I know talking about regions can get contentious. I will be listing the states to consider for each region based on history more or less and will explain my definition for each region before the corresponding poll. No nuance we die like men.

New England as defined by the states that used to make up the upper colonies in colonial America. Maine counts cause it was part of Massachusetts initially.

Mid-Atlantic is defined as the middle colonies during colonial America plus Maryland because I’m using the stricter definition of the south.

(Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware, New Jersey.)

The south is defined as the former Confederacy. Sometimes border states are included in this definition but I’m going strict, except West Virginia because it was part of Virginia initially.

The Midwest is defined as the states that were states as of the start of the Civil War but don’t fit into these other defined categories. Basically the northwest territory and upper parts of the former Louisiana purchase territory.

(Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri.)

Great Plains states are defined as states that were not states at the start of the Civil War that are in the more central area of the country.
