one of the most devastating things about succession is the way the women will NEVER be seen as equal to the men, but each one thinks theyre the exception. some of the women will look down on the others (the way they treat kerry and willa, for example) in some attempt to prove themselves, to seem like one of the guys, to prove that they’re different. they don’t realise they’re doomed to the same fate as every other woman in their world. gerri is one of the most competent employees in waystar and logan still tried to fire her. shiv convinced that woman to not speak out about the cruises, and she knew what she was doing wrong, she knew that she was being complicit in their crimes, and you can see it on her face how much it hurt her to do it, but she does it anyways because she thinks it’s going to help her. she gets fucked over anyways. and the cycle continues.
