September 11th is such an important day in American history. For those who witnessed 2001, you will never forget. I still remember exactly what I was doing when it happened. In 2012, on that same fateful date, we lost four more to a preventable act. A preventable act that now has us questioning our government. But the one thing I will never question is my love and dedication for the flag and the idea of America. Today we honor those who paid the ultimate price for us; as Americans, to live free. Some did it in combat, and others did it living the dream of America. Either way, we can never forget their sacrifice. God bless America, our fallen, and all those left behind. Today and every day going forward should be that of unity in America, not division. Stop hating and start loving. It is the only answer. Decades of division has shown today's course of action will only fail as it has time and time again. Let today stand for more than remembrance, but also for the day we began the healing of America.
It's been one hell of a day after. I only knew 2 of the officers in passing but it doesn't make it any easier. Each one of these men swore an oath to protect and serve our great city of Dallas. I'm really at a loss for words after what happened in Orlando last night, and to Christina Grimmie the night before. All this senseless violence; for what? No death is OK when it is murder whether it be 1 or 50. However, it seems Orlando may have been due to pure hatred either for America and/or for a group of people within America. We all start from one place; the human race. We are all HUMANS. Yes, we have our countries where we show our allegiance to a flag. But under that flag are MANY colors of people.
