are you ok with ppl reposting your photos? i saw @amorouscottage do so and it didnt seem like they asked so i wanted to check if you were good with it

Hey there! I haven’t been on this blog in a million yrs so sorry about the mega late response 😅 but ya it’s totally fine 😄 I actually saw on the pressed flowers one she posted that there’s a thing at the bottom that said source and then my blog name so it’s totally good! ☺️ thank you for your concern! ☺️

I’m absolutely in love with your blog 💕💕💕 I was wondering where you got your sheets or comforter with the palm leaves and stuff on them?

Oh thank you thank you! ☺️💕 my mom got them from LL Bean back in the mid-late 90s 😄

Hey I was wondering if you had any tips on pressing flowers? I always end up breaking them

Oh no that’s a bummer im sorry to hearthat :(( hmm well for after you’ve picked them and they’re still fresh, I would say just make sure you lay them as flat and as carefully inside a paper towel in a large & heavy book as best you can and keep it in a place where it can’t be disturbed or knocked over if possible. And for afterwards once they’ve been pressed, I would say maybe check on them after a week bc by then i think they should have a pretty decent pressed look but also still look kinda fresh and not so dried out and then, as i was just saying to a previous anon, I’ve seen some people say using mod podge is a good way to like permanently preserve them, whether they’re pressed or not, so you could cover them in that and then see if that helps maybe? I hope that maybe helps a bit 😅

Anonymous asked:

do you preserve flowers? if so, how??

So far I haven’t tried any methods other than pressing but! I have been looking into ways to try and like preserve them (especially before they start to brown or really dry out) that way permanently or at least as long as possible ha and I actually found a few sites & videos talking about covering them in mod podge as a way to preserve them, even non-pressed i think too, so that might be an option to try! :D also i know I’ve seen some people make them into bookmarks, jewelry, phone cases, tho i do wonder how long their color stays before it starts to turn brown if it does at all? Or maybe they do the mod podge method too? Idk? im not 100% tho, as ive said before im not an expert ha so correct me if I’m wrong! 😅And idk if these are helpful but I’ve saved these for future reference as some potential ways to preserve them or incorporate them into little fun art projects to hang somewhere in your house or something like that 😄: https://youtu.be/Kc1im1RJl_g•This is the mod podge method i mentioned. The quality isn’t the best but the audio definitely is and i think could possibly help or if not you could probably find some better videos on it. Someone in the comments also said to be careful not to lay it on too thickly or it may dry very blobby and stuff so be wary of that 😄https://youtu.be/EAkuHTtNIVs•This shows how to glue them onto a canvas in a cute pattern https://youtu.be/X5HQ3MJPaLg•This shows both how to dry them as well as a few different ways to incorporate them into your room or a journal & etc.http://hercreativespirit.blogspot.com/2010/08/pressed-wildflower-bookmark-tutorial.html?m=1•this talks about and shows with pictures too how to make a few into a cute bookmark. It’s a bit extensive but definitely worth a try if you’d like ☺️https://youtu.be/Smd44LVahh0•and this one shows how to preserve a bouquet. This method is kinda extensive too but also maybe worth a try and you could possibly try as well to incorporate some of the ways used to preserve them on tinier flowers or ones without stems and etc. And if anyone knows any other/better ways feel free to lmk! Hope that helps in some way ☺️💗
