A sneak peak into the progress I'm making on the twin peaks fan novel - get excited cause it's scanning the detail really well
I'm about halfway through scanning it today so tomorrow I'll try and crank through the rest, I'll just upload the whole thing at once when I'm done. I'm still trying to decide what the best way to host it is, whether its as a google drive file or in dropbox or something but i'll figure it out. It's a pdf anyway but my pdfs are always a little fucky (they don't like firefox sometimes idk) so we'll see what's easiest. as always I'll keep y'all updated on the progress.
This will go to deaf ears, but can we please stop redacting/black boxing sentences from memes until you can't see anything but black lines? This is a mess. Just make a new one.

my mom was like oh yeah you should be a theme park historian because you know so much about it and like. yeah i'm not gonna deny i know a lot about it i know more about theme park history than my own college major but also I don't wanna try and make a career in theme park history because i don't wanna turn my hobby into a job and take the fun out of it. it's more fun being a walking encyclopedia of useless knowledge doing private research in my free time and forcing anyone who will listen to hear about B&M ride supports.

Correct. The company is not your friend. You may be friends with your colleagues, with your boss, and that’s fine. The reason I’ve stayed at my company for a long time is the people I get to work with. But the corporate entity is not your friend.
I get tasked with finding savings every goddamn quarter. And we’re not talking staples and printer paper. More quarters than not, I have to work out how to make our revised cost targets. If I’m lucky, we have vacancies we can freeze or shut down. If I’m not, it’s colleagues who need to be made redundant. Because market analysts say that we should have a higher margin to be market competitive. So you get taskings from finance to squeeze out ever single dollar saving you can. And it’s the same at every other company, no matter the happy clappy “we’re so chill” marketing.

The hardest part of scanning the twin peaks fan novel is the fact that I cannot for the life of me remember whether or not I’ve scanned both sides of a page yet so I either have gaps I have to fill or repeated pages and have to use online pdf editors to chop and screw shit to get it right
The actual scanning part isn’t hard I literally just flip a page over and press a button so that’s great lmao and like yeah not every page is totally straight but like neither is any character in the book so it works out
