Yes. She was in severe pain for many years and didn’t tell anyone. Just kept looking after the kids and dragging herself along because they were too poor for her to prioritize herself.
Magic Physio Man took a massage class for fun one year and needed someone to practice on, so he asked if he could practice on her. Things NOBODY told me about being an adult that I wish they had:
- When you get to the top of the river you're going to want to find a shallow stretch of riverbed with relatively calm water and sediment pieces that are gravel sized, not cobble, sand or mud. This is critical; test it with your nose if you're not sure! when you have this, you're going to want to flip on your side and slap the gravel as hard as you can with your tail to dislodge it; you're gonna want to alternate between digging the spot out and doing some more slapping until you've got a nice little cone shaped depression for the eggs.

Jay DeFeo is best known for this monumental painting, entitled The Rose, which she started in 1958 and completed over the course of eight years. The piece consists of white and gray paints layered so thickly onto the canvas that, in some ares, the paints are almost eight inches thick. She used so much oil paint that she called it “a marriage between painting and sculpture.“
The Rose measures 7.5 x 11 feet and weighs 2,300 pounds,
