romanticizing your life is such a powerful tool and it’s a shame that it’s mostly used by people on tiktok to justify the purchase of expensive breakfast smoothies when there are few better ways to force oneself through unpleasant shit than imagining a cinematic backstory for your extremely quotidian suffering

I think a lot of people (especially those buying the new harry potter game) fundamentally misunderstand the actual problem with jk rowling and supporting harry potter. The biggest problem with jk rowling is not that she is a transphobe - hate will always exist, in every form - the problem with jk rowling is that she is a transphobe with the money and influence to not only spread her transphobic ideals, but also make them a reality.

Your opinion of jk rowling means nothing.

Your financial support (as in, buying hogwarts legacy) means infinitley more than anything you say against her. It is material. It can be used. Jk rowling isn't going to stop because there's a lot of people shouting at her. She's going to stop if or when it is no longer profitable. I can promise you someone like jkr is very much a rich piece of shit first and a transphobic piece of shit second. And even if she isn't, if she doesn't have money, she will only be a poor old woman alone in her home shouting slurs at the walls.

"But what if I pirate hogwarts legacy", you say. Well then you're still spreading rowlings influence. Maybe, just maybe, if you play the new harry potter game alone in a cave and never tell a single fucking soul, then, MAYBE, you'll JUST be playing an antisemetic blood libel piece of shit. If you're fucking lucky.

A lot of cis people may not want to hear this, but here goes:

You are going to have more in common with trans people who have a similar gender identity to you than you think. Trans people are reliable narrators of their own experiences, and whether you like it or not, we will have similar or even identical experiences to yours. Cis people don't have a monopoly over their gender or the experiences people have as a result of their gender.

in-your-20s 20s living arrangement poll!!

this poll is for anyone between the age of 20-29!

i’m unable to move out of my parents place post-uni, and i’ve seen other friends in the uk also struggling to find accommodation & have to make serious compromises just to find places to live.

this has made me super curious about the housing crises globally, and how people in my age group are living!

please if you answer this poll, put the country you currently live in in the tags! and please reblog for a decent sample size! <33

Legendary behavior for the FATE rules to include this in the very first section on character creation

honestly there are only two hard and fast rules for making a dnd character: they have to want to go on an adventure, and they have to be someone who wants to cooperate with a group

i would like a moment to briefly note how important it is that benoit blanc is an older queer character. an older, happy queer character.

we are missing a good chunk of an entire generation of queer people due to the aids crisis. blanc living his cute happy little life, probably in his fifties, with his lovely partner, is such a beacon of hope. for me, at least.
