“Pretty sure you’re the only one who misses them” Terry insisted as another well placed kick took down another thug. He winced at the Molotov but told himself to have a fire suppression pellet on standby.
Bludhaven was the rougher city between it and Gotham. Terry knew that even before becoming Batman. These thugs could take a beating and then some, even without splicing.
“Truth is, I need some help.”

“Hell yeah I do! Nightwing has sucha stick up his ass, at least the Boss is funny sometimes! The snippy messages means he cares, y’know?” Such a casual conversation to be having while she was in the process of breaking a man’s arm. Turning abruptly to the last man standing, Carrie took a running leap only to headbutt the thug with the full force of her kevlar-lined helmet.

Dusting herself off and giving the area a quick scan, she turned back to Terry. “You know all you have to do is call. How can I help?”

She was right about that, Terry thought as he watched Carrie take down the last of the men. With a thud, the man was down and the police would be on the scene soon enough to deal with this.

“Yeah, but I’d rather get your expertise on this. And I’m worried what Bruce will do.” He sighed and shook his head. “I’ve been hearing that the Mutant Leader’s been spotted in Gotham again. I may need help with him.”

Good Time to be a Batman Beyond fan

Having read Neo-Year, I’m very excited to see the direction this mini-series has. It’s a joy and while it’s not the best for new fans, the same spirit of Batman Beyond and especially the better episodes is reflected here.

Top that off with a new take with the SGM Beyond the White Knight and I’m glad to see Terry re-enter comics again.

Terry bobbed out of the way out of a flurry of gunfire before shooting a quick-fire batarang at one of the goons. “Seeing how you’re doing” he called out. “Been forever. Need a hand?”

“Never gonna turn down a helping hand! Doin’ great by the way!” She says with a Molotov cocktail in her hand, about to smash a guy’s face in with it; just another day in good old Bludhaven, really. “How’s the old man doin’? I kinda miss those curt, short messages!”

"Long time no see, Baby Bat~!" Carrie was, of course, trying to hold a conversation while dodging fists and gunfire. "What brings you to Bludhaven? Sight-seeing~?"

Happy Batman Day!

OOC: It’s hard to imagine life without Batman influencing my life in a lot of ways. One of the earliest memories I had was watching “Batman meets Scooby-Doo” as a kid on VHS. I remember watching Batman: The Animated Series as it aired and seeing Batman Beyond on Kids WB.

I met a lot of amazing people in my life due to the misadventures of Bruce Wayne. I made friends, honed my writing, and eventually met my wife through Batman, specifically Batman Beyond. We just got done watching the series premier of Batman Beyond again and still think highly of the two episodes and gushed about it.

While I do feel closer to old Bruce Wayne than young Terry McGinnis at points, I can’t help but feel proud because of my exposure to the Dark Knight.

There’s plenty to look forward to in the coming year. The Batman movie is looking great, Terry returns to comics in 2022, and there’s still way more to come. Suffice to say, I hope whether you’re a new fan, an old fan, or a fan who’s felt stale towards Batman, that he made your life better in some way, shape, or form.
