Toddler Eli pt 3
my favourite thing is when enemies to lovers are getting heated…and their faces end up really close… and they’re making solid eye contact…and then one of them is just like… *gaze drops to lips*
i think it shld be more widespread for ppl to read aloud to each other as a means of spending time together. like even just a bunch of adults sitting together reading wikipedia articles or something
thoughts??
no thanks i'm trying to quit
Can you just imagine somebody looking at Eli while Noah has him in the back of his cop car in handcuffs and Eli is making faces at Noah (like sticking his tongue out) and the person’s just like, “But he doesn't look like a criminal, Sheriff Stilinski?” Noah would deadass just stop and stare at them like they were crazy. Like, “Bitch, please. This is my grandson and I can 100% confirm he's a criminal... Now if you'll excuse me, I have two dads in a spiral, frantically looking for my grandson. Good day, you motherfucker.”
thinking about neil telling andrew, “i want to see you lose control,” and putting that into context.
he says it on the roof right after their cars have been destroyed by ravens fans and after andrew attacked allison in the parking lot, after andrew has been taken off his meds, after andrew admitted that he’d blow neil at eden’s, and before andrew kisses him for the first time.
and up to this point, control is what andrew has. he controls himself, keeping his emotions locked down away from the surface. he controls the people around him, his brother and his cousin and the foxes. he controls his sexuality, literally locking his partner up to make sure that things happen the way andrew wants them to. control is also what others think andrew needs, but notably not the kind of control he exerts for himself.
neil challenges all of that. he challenges the idea that andrew is out of control by recognizing his problem is that he’s trying to maintain too much control. neil challenges andrew keeping those parts of himself locked away because he is eager when he sees through to glimpses of the real andrew beneath, even when it’s the real andrew’s rage. he challenges andrew’s control over other people through his promises and bargains - neil doesn’t just go along with their agreement, he pushes and expects more from andrew. neil shows that the control goes both ways, that the bargains are a leash on andrew in the same way that he uses them on others, and keeping the relationships andrew’s trying to have with the people around him requires that he give up some of that control to them.
and i think this is a really interesting dynamic going into their first kiss and their relationship.
because neil shows andrew that the outcome of losing some of that tight control can be positive - someone seeing him clearly and not turning away, someone helping him and the people around him, someone willing to put himself on the line for andrew and give back everything andrew has been giving. control isn’t one way, it’s a give and take.
andrew’s insistence on neil’s “yes or no” is willingly giving some of that control to neil. their relationship is andrew giving his carefully maintained control away bit by bit.
neil says, “i want to see you lose control,” and andrew puts neil’s hand on his chest to see what neil will do with that control when he does.
neil is so infuriating.
he calls andrew out about not hating him but then he's also like "andrew won't care if i die because he hates me."
he gets mad that other people don't see how emotional and attached andrew is but then he's also like "andrew won't care if i die because he hates me."
he makes andrew drop his promise to keep neil safe on the last day of his ominous phone countdown but then he's still like "andrew won't care when i die because this is just a fling."
no wonder andrew is so pissed at him afterwards, this obnoxious mf is always talking shit about telling people the truth but doesn't even listen to himself. 💀
You feel you’ve been here, once before, in a memory that was not quite yours.

fathers casually dropping the craziest lore of their lives in the middle of a conversation
My brother and I trying to piece together our dad’s life based on random info he casually brings up once and then never mentions again
When my great grandpa was on his deathbed my grandpa (his son) was with him and says his last words were “I told them they shouldn’t have hanged that woman. Well by damn they’re paying now” and no one in my family knows what the fuck that means
My grandmother was harassing me about the dangers of online dating, and my grandpa was like, “Oh fer crying out loud, leave her alone. My parents met online, she’ll be fine.” Apparenly my great grandparents were both telegraph operators who would chat over the line in between messages and fell in love and my great grandma moved halfway across the country to marry a dude she met over the telegraph.
No one alive in the family had ever heard this story until like 70+ years later when I happened to start seeing a dude from OK Cupid.
unfortunately I’m watching supernatural and someone on screen said ‘there are No Wolves in pennsylvania’ and I was like. what a bold incorrect statement. where did they possibly get that idea from. so I googled it…google is insisting there are no wild wolves in pa?? except I’ve Seen wolves here?? there used to be a wolf that would hang out in my backyard and roam around the neighborhood?? like Everyone knew about this wolf we assumed he lived on the golf course and would come to our yards if he got spooked by golfers (very quiet block). like we all thought he just lost his pack or whatever so people just gave him a wide space and let him chill, he didn’t try to break into any houses or attack any pets but this was definitely. a wild wolf. where. where did he come from what do you MEAN there aren’t wolves in pennsylvania I’m literally spiraling right now
still feeling so gut-punched over this
To be fair, PA also said “we did not reintroduce mountain lions, they are not there, you’re seeing really big house cats, please keep coming to the parks and camp sites and ignore that video, that was totally not a mountain lion, someone took last week”
okay I’m sorry but this came up on pinterest and I Screamed
you are the state of Pennsylvania (allegedly)
i just showed this to a friend from pennsylvania and 1. theyre losing their mind bc theyve seen mountain lions which prompted them to look it up which leads me to 2. this fucking bonkers article
[caption: “We’ve been here 45 years and I’ve probably been told by people at least 100 t imes that they’ve seen a cougar or mountain lion,” said owner Vince Hall. “I kind of doubt they saw a cougar, but I’m not God.”]
PA: I can’t believe we’ve lost all our native apex predators Citizens of PA: there’s a mountain lion right there PA: sometimes we can still hear the sound of them scaring away tourists
…PA has fucking EMUS and you want me to believe we have no wolves or mountain lions?
what the fuck do you mean we have emus
Guys, I’ve cracked it
This thing goes all the way to the top
what the fuck is happening in pennsylvania
As a regretful born and raised Pennsylvanian, we have wolves, coywolves, mountain lions, lynx, and coyotes. Not a single person in authority will admit to there being anything but coyotes and lynx. If you see a cougar, they will tell you you saw a lynx. If you see a wolf, they will tell you you saw a coyote. Ignore the massive differences in sizes. No one knows what a coywolf is but we have them. I have seen a cougar with my own two goddamned eyes. There is an entire nature park whose main attractions are the cougars and wolves (and bison but we’re not talking about them) - it’s called Penn’s Cave, it’s been there forever. Everyone I know has seen a cougar or wolf at least once in the woods.
So what I’m getting at is don’t trust the government.
“the state of Pennsylvania is gaslighting its citizens about the native wildlife”
My spouse was born in PA (Bethlehem, Mt Sinai) and he is enjoying this entire thread, which we might show his cousins who live in Philly and have seen the These Aren’t Cougars.
