reminder that fatphobia is not simply a deep-seated hatred for fat people. It is the pathologization of a body type. you may think you love a fat person dearly and still view their body as a problem to be solved. our oppression is systemic. it is not just a matter of attitude change.

in this terrifying world you continuously have the power to offer someone else a little relief . why would you withhold that. do you remember what a little relief feels like? it feels like a lot

excuse me? are you suggesting i frolic directly into someone's emotional space and assume what brings them relief, potentially causing more stress? are you encouraging people to reach past their own boundaries to help, increasing net suffering if it costs more than the other gains? surely not; that would be advocating for emotional self-harm.

this is a post about the woman who waived my late fee at the bank .

good for you, good for her, the wording on the initial post feels closer to blaming people who don't reach out than celebrating those who do by a large enough margin that i feel the need to hit back

you are a tar pit

suicidal people deserve a space to talk about their suicidal feelings without risking hospitalization/institutionalization or being accused of being manipulative or attention seeking

fun article to check out on this topic: "Suicidism: A new theoretical framework to conceptualize suicide from an anti-oppressive perspective" by Alexandre Baril. The section "Silence = Death" covers this exact subject (suicidal people not being able to discuss their suicidal feelings without being punished ("helped") in some way for it). He quotes suicidologist David Webb:

"In the current environment […] talking about your suicidal feelings runs the very real risk of finding yourself being judged, locked up and drugged. Suicidal people know this and […] will do their best to prevent it happening to them. We hide our feelings from others, go underground. And the deadly cycle of silence, taboo and prejudice is reinforced. […] There is a fundamental flaw at the core of contemporary thinking about suicide; which is the failure to understand suicidality as it is lived by those who experience it."

people who don’t understand why cooking bloggers have paragraphs about picking apples with their college roommate or their childhood best friend with cancer or fishing with dad after a break up or the thing their kid told them in the produce section last week or their first time growing herbs in a window box are like telling on themselves. I never got that joke. Scroll down to the recipe if you’re uninterested in delicate interconnections whatever like sometimes I don’t feel like reading it I’m on a mission but I know why its there I know why they were moved to include that with the recipe . You know. Anthony knew. We all really know I hope

It boggles my mind that somebody paid 44 billion dollars to become the permanent main character of twitter.  Say what you will but when William Randolph Hearst owned a newspaper you could not get away with calling him a little bitch in it.  You wanted to call William Randolph Hearst a little bitch you had to go to the trouble of making Citizen Kane.
