I mean, sure, it’s all fun and games to you. But I’ve had friends legitimately try to kill themselves just thinking about a future in this country. I have co-workers who cried on the first day of school because they were scared of dying. While I was working at a school there were three school shooting threats in 4 weeks. I had friends break out into tears after the massacre in 2018 talking about it in class, terrified that they were going to die while working–or watch students die.
My high school history teacher was shot in the back on campus. Everyone here knows someone who’s been affected by gun violence. Everyone knows someone who’s been affected by healthcare, or lack thereof. Everyone knows someone whose life has been ruined by college debt.
The day in, day out nightmare of living in America is not a fucking “GOTCHA” for when you’re trying to tease America. Why is this so hard to comprehend.

the mere fact that john boyegas career could be ruined because he's standing up and speaking out against racism while rich white celebrities careers are safe as they do the bare minimum, if anything, is fucking disgusting.
Currently, across the US there are protests for the Black Lives Matter movement (there are also some protests in other countries). However, this is not enough. We need to show our support to Black people outside of them being murdered. There needs to be support for them in their hobbies and careers. It is known that some people do not feel welcome to the TTRPG community for a number of reasons. Yet, there are several that need to be recognized if you have not recognized them already. This list is incomplete and I hope it continues to grow. This list comprises of people I have found on Twitter, hence why they have their Twitter handles listed. If you have another Black person that is a part of the community but is not represented in this list, please add their name. If you are one, also add your name. Maybe you’ll find your next game you want to play, stream you want to watch, or person to follow in this list. Also please share.

Seek them out. Play their games. Buy their art. Read their works. Support the people in our community

An actor being paid for a role / doing some advertising is a world away form a man setting up a cooperate money machine that horrendously exploits workers
This is something I hate SO MUCH about how tumblr talks about money.
Like, I get that famous actors have large amounts of money, some of them are even probably overpaid (I have complicated thoughts about how actors are paid because of the nature of acting as a career), but they are exchanging labor for money, and their salaries are an expense involved in making a movie.
But like… an actor is paid for a job. They’re a worker like the rest of us. Bezos isn’t paid for a job, he’s paid for being the person who owns Amazon and despite being obscenely wealthy, he does all sorts of shitty things and to underpay and exploit his workers, and avoid paying taxes, so that more of the money Amazon generates will be profit (worker’s salaries are not profit, they’re a business expense).
These two mechanisms of acquiring money are fundamentally very different.
The reason why billionaires are evil aren’t because having money is bad, its because to get a billion dollars you have to cheat. You have to take it from someone else. If Bezos paid all his workers and suppliers fairly and treated them well, and paid his fair amount of taxes, and etc, then it literally wouldn’t matter how much money he earned, because he wouldn’t be doing anyone any harm. But its not actually possible to amass a billion dollars (a full order of magnitude bigger than a million) while behaving in an ethical manner.

Do you think a quarterstaff would be able to knock someone prone? I like the idea of being able to sweep an enemy off the ground by knocking their legs over with my staff
I think it’s possible. Honestly I bet someone has hombrewed it as an action. I think it could be a situation where the wielder has to make an attack or check against another player’s acrobatics/or dex or be knocked prone. I would have to think about the mechanics more but I think it’s totally possible and would be pretty fun.
It counts as an attack roll, make an athletics check compared to the enemies athletics or acrobatics roll and you can knock them prone, if you have multi attack you can make other attacks
Is Freja a wizard necromancer or some other class? I'm playing a cleric necromancer rn because I personally don't want to play a necromancer who can't revivify, so i'm curious how Freja's player approached it!

Hi! Hugo here! Although I might not have the best explanation of it (@the-not-so-great-depession is Freja, he can answer better probably), I can explain what I understand. So Freja got a book prior to the start of the campaign that gave her magic. It is connected to this goddess and when Hugo died, she dug in the book and asked the goddess (we called her the nice lady cause we didn't know she was a goddess at the time) to bring me back because I was her friend. Moon turned red, her wisdom dropped 2 points, and badda bing badda boom I'm alive with red eyes and a glowing red heart.
