The Last Crusade

By the way, while it’s clear that Mando’s been far enough away from main events that we can expect him to know as little as possible about anything, he’s obviously spent some time in his past with Tusken raiders, enough to learn their language and become familiar with their customs, and has some cobbling of Jawaese and Huttese, which would work with a theory that he’s spent a reasonable amount of time on Tatooine, and anyway, I’m just saying that the single funniest thing would have been if this X-wing fighter had shown up, this cloaked and hooded Jedi absolutely destroys an entire elite Darktrooper squad, marches onto the bridge, lowers his hood, and Mando goes “...Owen and Beru’s boy???”

Luke peaced out so quickly because he knew it was only a matter of time before our dearly concussed protagonist recognized his face and went “wait, didn’t I have to help your uncle pull you out of a circulation system one time because you thought that you could go from one side of the house to the other with nobody noticing that way, and you were sixteen”

it really is astonishing how one can talk oneself into any sort of mood. Almost.

There are times that I’m like “why would God ruin my life with this pandemic” and then I see shit like crowds in Argentina dancing for joy that they can legally kill babies now and I really don’t think He’s punishing us hard enough

Remember, God only promised He wouldn’t destroy the earth in flood again.

Mark my words: Banks will soon be pressured to prohibit their services being used for anything gun related.

That means gun dealers will have their accounts closed, banks will refuse to process any commercial or private gun related payments and possibly shut down accounts of people who are caught doing it anyway.

They can’t get gun bans written into law at the moment, but you bet they’ll try mobilizing Silicon Valley and the private sector to make it as difficult as possible for people to exercise their rights.

Sometimes I hate being right. It just happened.

Privately enforced gun control is here and it’s set to get worse. Your rights on paper don’t matter if big business and finance conspire to deny you them.

(Thanks to @knotty-peppers for the heads up)

Aaaand it keeps happening

Look at this amazing news everyone!! Finally, someone is taking a stand against the bullshit lax gun laws in our country!! Please let more banks start doing this amazing, wonderful, and GOOD thing!! ^_^

@OP: *points and laughs at your pathetic ass*

Yea really cool idea to let private banking institutions unilaterally decide which of your constitutional rights you’re able to exercise.

How does it feel to lick the boot of Goldman Sachs?

the egalitarians are at it again

Reblogging to bring up bank fuckery because of Operation Chokepoint.

“Private banks” not so much.

Also, fuck them, withdrawal and buy with cash.

Cash, gold, crypto,

Let’s go.

...Christians in India understand that Jesus's call to go and make disciples is independent of any government's approval. And Hindu nationalists understand that one of the biggest threats to their 'Hindutva' ideology is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which frees Hindus from the bondage of trying to appease or earn the favor of millions of false gods. If the gospel continues to spread, India cannot become the land of the Hindus. In "Hindustan," therefore, Christians must be treated as enemies.

it fucks me up that tolkien only died in 1973. dude has the vibe of a victorian scholar who wrote all his manuscripts by candlelight but then you look him up and realise that he knew what color tv was. what the fuck.

Tolkien had personal beef with the Beatles

Sorry I’m just crying about the fact that Tolkien saw the moon landing. Like… god I would kill to read his beautiful thoughts on that

He probably didn't like it.

there must have been at least one time during the clone wars where anakin and cody had to work directly together and i'm 100% sure that cody read anakin's battlefield strategies for their upcoming mission and was like

Cody: “General Skywalker, sir, the mission brief just says “Plan B. What does that mean?”

Ahsoka, putting on a crash helmet and strapping a jetpack on: “Don’t ask; the answer will just upset you.”

The accuracy is astounding.

“One of the most interesting things about Elizabeth Turner was her Kiss of Death. Throughout the trilogy, all of the men she locked lips with has died - including Sao Feng in At World’s End, and (if you want to be petty about it) her father, Weatherby Swann. Usually they would die moments after kissing her for the first time. This excludes Will Turner who has kissed her several times before and beat the odds every time. However, even he succumbed to her kiss and died as well minutes after the two were hastily married by Barbossa. This is most likely a just coincidence and not something that was intentional, but years later it’s still fun to point out to friends and watch a dawn of realization hit their face when they realize that Pirate Queen Elizabeth may have also been the Grim Reaper.”

Alot of people seem to miss these two additional details:

  1. The kiss of death only works when she’s on a boat (she never kissed Will on a boat until their wedding)
  2. When the effect does kick in, the killing is preformed by the crew of the Dutchman.

When Jack died, he was killed by the Kraken, summoned by Davy Jones.

When Sao Feng died, was by the damage from the canons of the Dutchman

When Norrington died, it was by Bootstrap Bill, a member of it’s crew.

And when Will died, it was directly by the hands of Davy Jones.

One more thing that has struck me as odd is when she interracts with Davy Jones, he acts as if he’s seen her somewhere before. When the Empress crew point her out as the captain he has a sort of “wtf, you, you are their captain?” reaction, now you could just shake that of as Davy Jones being a misogynistic but i don’t doubt he’s seen female pirate captains before, given how long he’s lived. And when they come face to face on the Dutchman, it feels like a meeting between sworn long time enemies (at least to me).

Elizabeth, what the hell are you even and what exactly is your connection to the Dutchman.

I am living for actual Omen of Death Elizabeth Swan

Anonymous asked:

These are two distinct words, one for the singular noun one for the plural ?? ~whimnen is usually plural ~whumen is singular.

lol it’s a subtle difference in pronunciation so it’s hard to express in written form.

I am speaking about the plural woman. It seems to be generally pronounced wimmen, but what I’m saying is that I’ve been hearing it pronounced more phonetically, wo-men or whoa-men or whumen. So I ask because it could be an accent thing, but having traveled a lot in the USA I don’t think it is, I think it’s just some people being odd.

It’s funny too because, since we say it so quickly, the singular is often pronounced to sound more like women (“a woman”).
