i could be…losing my mind at this point and analyzing any crumb of deancas that i can get a taste of, so let me share this with you all anyway. 

i just watched 6x15 the french mistake (which happens to be my favorite supernatural episode) twice in a row and just noticed something very interesting that i don’t think anyone has talked about (if they have, 100% my bad) and i cannot stop thinking about it. 

preface to this scene: rapheal managed to get into the “fake supernatural set” where dean and sam were sent by balthazar who had given them the “key” (a fake one) to all of the weapons in heaven. bathazar shows up and tries to talk raphael out of it and spilling the plan that he had, soon after cas shows up saying, “step away from him, raphael. i have the weapons now. their power is with me…if you don’t want to die tonight, back off.” so of course raph backs off and leaves. 

but what i find…questionable is the line that balthazer says right after to cas:

obviously this could be interpreted by having an actual real sword that came with the deal that cas had with balthazar, this plan including in the factor of heaven’s weapons (unless there is another reference to a sword later in the season i really don’t remember so then this analysis could be way off but i don’t care), but i’m going to take the meaning of sword a little less literally in this circumstance. 

do you see how they cut to dean right after balthazar gives that look to cas? 

“now that you have YOUR sword” – dean is known as “michael’s sword” right, the perfect vessel for michael and not like a physical object? this is something that all angels are aware about, right? and we all know that balthazar has deeper knowledge into the feelings that cas has for dean (“sorry, you have me confused with the other angel. you know, the one in the dirty trench coat who’s in love with you”). 

i swear this is balthazar saying in a subtextual way, “there, now you have your dean back in one place, don’t put yourself in a position where you have to die for him” (which, haha gotta love unintentional foreshadowing) in an “under the radar this is an inside joke between the both of us” sort of manner. 

please go watch this scene again, it hits differently now and i hope i’m not the only one who’s noticed this if not this is a gem we’ve been sleeping on. 

violations of sams autonomy bc suffering!!

-forced to ingest demons blood (six months old + preseries)

-posessed + made to kill innocent people, (s2)

-forced to ingest demon blood agAIN (s4)

-manipulated into being the devil’s vessel (s5, given essentially no choice bc not doing so would result in the apocalypse basically)

-tortured and raped for years (between over a hundred to several thousand, s5-6)

-tricked into being posessed by an angel who used his body to kill his friend and had no knowledge of it for months and  just thought something was wrong with him on a basic level rather than it being a result of something else hi im still not over the gadreel bullshit kill me (s9?)

-being made to believe he was having sex with his torturer (she literally fucking mind raped him as torture i want to DIE, s11)

mind if I add a few similar points, some may not be entirely to do with autonomy but definitely about consent:

- Meg’s sexual assault on a tied-up Sam in 1x16

-Lilith pinned him to the wall and forcibly kissed him right before she killed his brother 3x16

- Ruby took sexual advantage of a drunk, grieving and possibly high Sam, despite the fact he said no to her 4x09

-Dean and Bobby locked Sam in the panic room to force him to detox. They left him with no food, little water, no one nearby to make sure he was safe, forcing him to go cold turkey and almost killing him 4x21

-Lucifer appearing as Sam’s dead girlfriend Jessica to trick him to say yes to him 5x03

-Gary swapping bodies with Sam, and using his body to have sex with someone 5x12

-Lucifer using Sam’s body to kill possessed people (who were demons used to spy on Sam as he grew up, his prom date was a demon ffs) 5x22

-Cas broke Sam’s wall 6x22

- Becky drugged him with a love potion and forced him to MARRY her and she tied him to her bed 7x08

^and his pants were mysteriously gone ???

1x01 sam tells the woman in white constance welch you can’t kill me ive never been unfaithful and she says you will be and forcibly kisses him and puts her hand through his chest and was probably planning on doing more

6x11 a soulless sam is tied down and his soul is forcibly returned to him in an extremely violating manner despite sam’s frantic protests against it

13x21 sam is brought back to life by his abuser who proceeds to tell sam that he is now indebted to him and should always remember who brought him back

Oh. Wow. I never fully picked up on these things.
