Reckless Acts Of Kindness

@the-dracologist

Just a girl that loves dragons and fantasy. I'm really really scattered and may not remember to tag things, especially if it's an obscure trigger. Follow at your own risk. I try to tag discourse and controversy as politics or drama.

Please reblog if you vote. I will attempt to draw the animal when the poll closes

Thank you all for voting, and sorry to everyone in advanced. I probably should have put more emphasis on the word "try" in my original post. I am not very good at art. I hope you will still accept our scrunkly little animal even if I lack the skills to make him look very good

Our New Hope - Ongoing

A Star Wars au comic. In which the Empire discovers Leia Organa to be force sensitive at a young age, and a togruta meets a young boy while stopping for repairs at a farm on Tatooine.

Featuring Inquisitor!Leia, Ahsoka kidnapping taking her nephew on an educational family bonding road trip, Vader figuring out the identity of at least one of his children way sooner, a young Starkiller who is surprisingly as much of a dork as he is a Sith apprentice, snarky child soldier Mara Jade, and four kids doing their level best to keep their heads above the water even with the weight of the galaxy on their shoulders. (please,,,,, they are thirteen,,,,)

Gag a day comic strip, focused mainly on Doctor Who and Star Trek, as the Doctor and various other characters travel between "fiction planes" and get into some amounts of trouble but mostly a lot of (bad) (good) puns.

There's also a more "serious" storyline, In Thy Image, in which the Doctor (Who) sues Starfleet to recognize the rights of Holograms, specifically the Doctor (EMH), which shows a lot of the heart of the comic but still a lot of the humor.

at my job we have to go through a training program that teaches us the library of congress classification system, and when i was first being trained my boss started to boot it up and she gave me a really anxious and guilty look and said “listen, i’m really sorry in advance, there’s nothing i can do about this, just…. just try to get through it” and i was like lol what’s she talking about and then the program loaded and i was greeted with a deliriously funny-looking photoshopped wizard with glowing eyes pointing at some intro message like “AH YES, JUST AS THE PROPHECY FORETOLD… APPRENTICE, YOU COME AT A TIME OF MOST DIRE NEED… YOU MUST LEARN OUR WAYS” and my boss just looked at me helplessly and was like “i’m so sorry. it’s like two hours long.”

thankfully it wasn’t an elaborate fever dream and i have found screenshots

But oh, I remember how you used to shine, back then

You went down so easy like a glass of wine, my friend

When the dawn came up you felt so inspired to do it again

But it turns out you only get to do it once

Here is the composition for the Queen of Clubs, the bisexual pride knight!

The clubs suit features a flower theme. The idea is to engrave her armor with floral designs and to give her a powerful magic sword made from petals!

Don't you sometimes get an absolutely extrodinary, mind blowing, such an awesome idea for a story, but you just don't have enough skill level to pull it off?

Write it anyway.

Write it anyway, write it anyway, write it anyway.

There are so, so, so many reasons:

  • You gain that skill level only through practice. So practice.
  • No matter what you’re writing, no matter how badly you think you’ve written it, there is ALWAYS some audience that will love it and cherish it.
  • You can use what you write the first time around as a first draft and just rewrite it again later when you feel like tackling the story again!
  • Rewriting the same story over and over is a valid writing process. It’s literally just creating new drafts. Each iteration will be better than the last, because each is building on your growing skill and experience.
  • If you love the story, it will always be worth telling simply for your own enjoyment. If no one else ever sees it, that’s okay! Your art should be for you first, anyway.

Write it anyway.

The voxus dub of homestuck has a current total runtime of ~60 hours, or 2 and a half days of straight homestuck

However, the voxus dub isn't actually complete as of March 2023, so thats not quite accurate

Voxus is ~69% (well. 0.695... rounds up to 70 but 69's funnier) of the way through the comic, so we can extrapolate by solving 0.69 × y = 60 to see that the approximate runtime of homestuck should be about 87 hours

Or Three and A Half Fucking Days of Homestuck

being a fan of a polarizing female character is hard because whenever you say “yeah i really like her–” someone cuts you off with “i have violent fantasies about killing her”
