Hey everyone! Here’s a pic of my #currentread and #drawingwip ! Current read: Specials, Scott Westerfield. While the first book in this series was a total flop for me, I’m really enjoying Specials as well as Pretties! In book one I felt like everyone was talking about Tally like she was someone special and different, when to me she felt boring and flat. Plus the romance with David was 🤮 I didn’t get to know his character at all before they were suddenly ‘in love’. While the romance is still a bit sketchy and out of place, I feel like Tally’s character has finally grown to be the person that everyone saw her as in the first book. I can’t wait to see how the series ends. And my drawing WIP is a snow leopard. I’m back! I had a lovely few days with my friend and am ready to get back to putting as much work as I can into TDWD! In fact, I ordered my proof copy yesterday 😱 I’m #currentlyreading Uglies by Scott Westerfield…ngl, this book is (so far, I’m super close to finishing) a big disappointment. I haven’t connected to any of the characters in the slightest and I feel totally distanced from the action when I’m reading. The world building is pretty good though, and it’s an interesting interpretation of the future and an interesting point of view on where we are today. Anyone else feel this way about this book? ✨NEW BOOKS & NEW DUCK✨ Meet Rowan, or Rowie for short! This little guy was given to me when a friend of a friend heard I was raising ducklings. She had gotten him from someone who was keeping him in an apartment in Toronto (???) after the poor little guy was abandoned in the city. He’s had a tough life, but I’m hoping to give him a nice new home! I may not be able to keep him when he reaches adulthood (If he’s a drake he and my other boy, Zephyr, would fight over the ladies) but I’ll be raising him until then. He’s either a Mallard or a Rouen, I think, but I can’t be sure because of his sketchy past. He’s become quite attached to little Penny and they’re so cute to watch 🥰 Annnd a friend lent me the Jamieson brothers trilogy, which she loved and I hope I will too. I watched that show they made off it a few years ago but have never read the book! 🤫In Her Skin by Kim Savage.
