I can confirm this is accurate to some species but WHY. Why do the gills form an almost perfectly ordered line themselves but at an arbitrarily minor slant relative to the rest of the anatomy until one final cumbersome extra gill hole has to interrupt the proper straight line of the mucus glands. This is the anatomical equivalent to when just a couple of bathroom tiles break the pattern. Was it an error that simply had no consequences worth correcting for or is there an unseen reason why it had to be left that way??? Like would this make sense if we saw not only how the organs are arranged but the order in which they evolved??

I can explain this!

The big gill hole? Well, that is a drainage hole. The way hagfish breathe is that they take in water from their nostril, and it gets swished over their gills that are inside of their bodies, then the water is forced out of the big drainage hole at the back. But why are there all the other holes? Well, not all hagfish are equal. Some have multiple drainage holes along the way but they still have the large hole at the back for that final spot to remove water or any detritus they inhaled. Fun fact though, apparently the large hole is only large on the left side for some reason

Not an arborist but yeah, that removed nearly all of the trees' leaves and created numerous injuries open to infection.

Most likely not because Universal Studios basically bought an unincorporated part of LA County called ‘Universal City’ where most of their studio lot is. 30% of their lot falls on Los Angeles city property but the other 70% is unincorporated and they contract city services from the county. Because Smeyer appropriated a real Native American tribe and twisted their culture and history in her fantasy books for her own profit.

This fictional Quileute Tribe is and always will be disrespectful to the real life Quileute tribe.

idk what kind of home y’all grew up in but when i was growing up we weren’t allowed to leave dishes in the sink or we were horrible people who were destroying the house and i just want to say that you are allowed to leave dishes in the sink. you don’t have to scrub that baking dish immediately after using it. you can pour in some soap and hot water and then tomorrow when the soap has had its time to work it’ll be so much easier to clean. soaking dishes is good and okay and you’re allowed.

yeah! If you want more words of affirmation, know that even my grandparents leave stuff in the sink so it can soak and be much easier to clean in the morrow (and they're kinda clean freaks). And even when I worked in the retirement house cleaning all the dishes, the chef would tell me to leave the burned pan or casserole or whatever soak for as long as it was needed.

Leaving your dishes for a little while in the sink is not a crime.

When cooking rice in an instant pot instead of stressing about scrubbing the stuck-on half-melted rice at the edged and bottom, just leave the pot by a window in the sun for a few hours or days. The rice will crisp itself up from the heat and detach from the surface of the pot, at which point you just take the rice scooper and scrape the sides/bottom before upending the rice into the trash. EZPZ. If you're like me and use your InstantPot as "rice cooker and thats it", you don't really have to wash your pot hardly at all anymore.
