Lavender Syrup

This recipe is great for a syrup to add to your tea or coffee for a little sweetness and flavor. It’s really good for simple spells as well and can be put out as an offering to fae and spirits alike. I like to add it to my tea at night for visions while I sleep. I also have started using it as an offering to one of my spirit companions and they love it. 

STEPS

*The more lavender that you add the more intense the flavor will be as well. I personally use ½ cup of lavender for a more intense smell and flavor. As well as let it sit for an hour in the pot as it cools. The longer that you let it seep the darker the color will be too. It turns out to be a lovely purple color regardless.

OK so when a familiar dies, it ends up as some half shape-shifted mix between its goblin form and its animal one. For example, Connor’s iguana:

We never see any familiars outside of their animal forms to see what they look like normally - except for once: Salem’s introduction.

I like Salem, I think he’s absolutely adorable… but… I can’t help thinking… is it just me or does Salem look nothing like the other familiars? Cos when I first saw Salem on my original watch, my very first thought was “Jeez he’s not at ALL like what I expected!”

I mean, look at the two dead familiars. They’re called “goblins” and they look… well.. like a certain angle on goblins. smallish, humanoid, big sharp teeth, pointy ears, kinda boney and … golin-like. If you told me out of context to describe them, the word “goblin” would pop into my mind.

But look at Salem. He’s HUGE, and sleek, and barely seems corporeal. He’s got no ears at all, let alone pointy ones, and my immediate classification of him was as some sort of shadow creature. He moves so fluidly, like he has no bones at all, and look at his hands. Or more accurately, his fingers. Because they’re so huge and long it is unclear if he even HAS hands, or if he just has fingers. I mean the goblins have long fingers for their size, but they’re just not built the same way… watch how Salem moves, his fingers are so graceful, they’re almost like spider’s legs. Not to even mention that incredible tail!

Is it possible that Sabrina went out into the woods to find a goblin familiar… but then something ELSE heard her and decided that it could do the job just as well? And maybe Sabrina’s never seen a real live goblin in its true form before, so she has no idea what to expect. And no-one else has ever SEEN Salem’s true form either… so if she says “this is my familiar” and they see a cat that looks like a familiar and acts like a familiar… well then why would they question?

I mean we still haven’t seen very much familiar-focus, so I don’t have too much to go on here… I’m just spitballing. But if Salem IS a goblin… he sure don’t look like any goblin I’ve ever seen before.
